Chase Utley - 2B - Phillies

Chase Utley (oblique) went 0-for-4 in his rehab debut Wednesday evening at Double-A Reading.

"Obviously, I haven't seen live pitching for a month, so my timing was a little off," Utley said after the game. "But overall it went pretty well." He has been out since May 20 because of a right oblique strain. The Phillies are expecting him back this weekend.

Derek Norris - C - Athletics

Derek Norris was removed from Wednesday night's game after taking a foul tip to the groin.

"He's a tough guy, and to come out of that game means he was struggling," manager Bob Melvin said. "He got hit pretty good. A contusion of a particular area." Norris is considered day-to-day. He'll be fine eventually.

Alex Colome - S - Rays

Alex Colome will make a spot start for the Rays on Saturday afternoon against the Yankees.

Colome struck out seven batters and allowed just one unearned run over 5 2/3 innings in his major league debut last month versus the Marlins. He's sure to have a tougher time navigating the Yankees' lineup but still makes for a decent streamer in deep mixed leagues.

Alex Cobb - S - Rays

Rays manager Joe Maddon said Wednesday that Alex Cobb (concussion) has some "fluid buildup" in his ear.

Cobb was diagnosed with a mild concussion last Saturday after taking an Eric Hosmer line drive off the right side of his head. "He's doing really well, there's not this high level of concern," Maddon told reporters on Wednesday. "It's just a matter of working through the initial impact — which was incredible as you all saw — and being patient with it." There is no timetable for the right-hander's return from the disabled list.

Juan Uribe - 3B - Dodgers

Juan Uribe (back) went 0-for-3 with a walk in his return to the Dodgers' lineup on Wednesday.

Uribe hadn't played since Saturday because of a tight back. He's batting .267/.364/.400 in 51 games this year.

C.J. Wilson - S - Angels

C.J. Wilson combined with Scott Downs and Ernesto Frieri on a two-hitter Wednesday in a 1-0 win over the Mariners.

Wilson allowed both hits -- singles off the bats of Kyle Seager and Kendrys Morales -- before Downs and Frieri finished up with perfect frames. Three of Wilson's six wins this season have come at Seattle's expense, and he's now 14-5 with a 3.55 ERA lifetime against the Mariners.

Joe Saunders - S - Mariners

Joe Saunders took a complete-game loss after giving up one run in eight innings against the Angels on Wednesday.

The lone run to score off him did so on a wild pitch. This makes five straight quality starts for Saunders, though he has a 2-2 record to show for it. Overall, he's 5-7 with a 4.48 ERA. Next up for him is a favorable home start against the Pirates.

Nelson Cruz - OF - Rangers

Nelson Cruz went 3-for-5 with two RBI as the Rangers beat the A's 9-4 on Wednesday.

The outfielder recorded three singles on the evening, raising his line to .270/.333/.527 in 69 games. The runs batted in gave him 50 on the season to go with 18 home runs. He's having a terrific season in his walk year, and it could lead to a big payday come winter.
