A.J. Pierzynski is joining Fox Sports as a full-time analyst.

That means Pierzynski's 19-year career in the big leagues is officially over. The 40-year-old had a tendency to rub people the wrong way with his brash personality (a fact he readily admits) but was a productive hitter throughout his career, batting .280 with 188 homers over 7,290 major league at-bats for seven different clubs. Pierzynski made two All-Star appearances and won a World Series with the White Sox in 2005. He's been a part of Fox's postseason coverage for several years.

Julio Urias will not be on the Dodgers' Opening Day roster.

Urias is starting on Tuesday and will remain with the Dodgers for their upcoming freeway series against the Angels. The young left-hander will bide his time in the minors until a spot opens up for him in the big league rotation. Urias is likely to open the year in extended spring training after logging just 5 2/3 innings in the Cactus League this spring.

Julio Urias will not be on the Dodgers' Opening Day roster.

Urias is starting on Tuesday and will remain with the Dodgers for their upcoming freeway series against the Angeles. The young left-hander will bide his time in the minors until a spot opens up for him in the starting rotation. It's possible he could open the year in extended spring training after logging just 5 2/3 innings in the Cactus League this spring.

Reds claimed 2B Scooter Gennett off waivers from the Brewers.

The Brewers decided they didn't need Gennett anymore with Jonathan Villar moving to second base full time this year. Gennett will give the Reds some infield depth behind starters Zack Cozart, Eugenio Suarez, and Jose Peraza. Cozart could be shopped at some point, which could open up a spot for Gennett as the team's everyday shortstop. The 26-year-old set career-highs with 14 homers, 56 RBI and eight steals last season.

Reds optioned RHP Tim Adleman to Triple-A Louisville.

C Rob Brantly, RHP Louis Coleman, INF/OF Hernan Iribarren, LHP Lucas Luetge, 2B Tony Renda and RHP Sal Romano are also being sent down. Adleman had a rough spring, logging an 11.81 ERA over six Cactus League outings. He made 13 starts for the Reds as a rookie last season. Adleman will be back in Cincinnati at some point this year.

Yusmeiro Petit has made the Angels' Opening Day roster.

Petit had been a non-roster invitee. The right-hander dominated in his five Cactus League outings, contributing a 0.75 ERA over 12 innings of work. He'll begin the year as a long reliever but could force his way into the starting rotation at some point.

Diamondbacks placed OF Socrates Brito on the 60-day disabled list with a disclosed finger.

Brito had surgery to repair his dislocated left ring finger earlier this month. He remains out indefinitely. Yasmany Tomas, A.J. Pollock and David Peralta will make up the Diamondbacks' Opening Day outfield.

Jorge De La Rosa has made the Diamondbacks' Opening Day roster.

De La Rosa didn't have a particularly strong spring (5.63 ERA in eight Cactus League outings) but the D'Backs are hoping he still has some juice left as a middle reliever/lefty specialist. Chase Field isn't a pitcher's park by any stretch, but it's certainly a step up from Coors Field, where De La Rosa spent his previous nine seasons.
