Elvis Andrus (elbow) has been cleared to swing a bat.

Andrus is currently on the 60-day disabled list with an olecranon fracture in his right elbow -- an injury he suffered back in mid-April. If all goes smoothly with his rehab activities, he could return to the Rangers' active roster around the middle of June. The 29-year-old shortstop was batting .327/.426/.500 through his first 61 plate appearances this season. Jurickson Profar has been filling in at short for Texas.

Adrian Beltre (hamstring) took grounders hit right at him on Tuesday.

But the veteran third baseman still isn't doing any lateral movement and is likely still a couple weeks away from returning to the Rangers' active roster. Beltre has been out since May 15 with a left hamstring strain. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will continue to fill in at the hot corner for the Rangers.

Brett Gardner is out of the Yankees' starting lineup on Tuesday night against the Rangers.

Giancarlo Stanton is in left field and batting third, with Aaron Hicks in center field and hitting leadoff versus Rangers left-hander Cole Hamels. Tyler Austin is at DH and Neil Walker is playing first base.

MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reports that the Mets are working toward a deal with Jose Bautista.

DiComo notes, however, that the Mets are not the only team showing interest in Bautista, who was released by the Braves on Sunday after batting just .143/.250/.343 over 40 plate appearances. It sounds like the 37-year-old will have a new home by the end of the day Tuesday. He would likely play the corner outfield in New York after struggling defensively at third base in his short time with Atlanta.

Michael Lorenzen (shoulder) will be activated off the disabled list Wednesday.

Lorenzen has worked four scoreless innings on his rehab assignment at Double-A Pensacola. The 26-year-old setup man was placed on the disabled list at the end of spring training with a right shoulder strain.
May 22 - 4:52 PM

Matt Grace (groin) is scheduled to throw live batting practice on Friday.

If that goes well, he should be cleared to resume his minor league rehab assignment. Grace has been on the disabled list since April 21 because of a groin strain. He had to be pulled away from pitching in rehab games earlier this month after tweaking his groin at Triple-A Syracuse.
May 22 - 4:38 PM

An MRI taken Monday on the right elbow of Blake Wood showed damage to his ulnar collateral ligament.

That's a diagnosis that often leads to Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery, but Wood will seek an additional opinion before any decisions are made on that front. He's been on the disabled list since April 22.
May 22 - 4:35 PM

Aledmys Diaz (ankle) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment by the end of this week.

Diaz began running over the weekend and has also started to incorporate agility drills into his workouts in recent days. The shortstop has been on the disabled list since May 8 because of a severe left ankle sprain. He should be ready to return to the Blue Jays' active roster in early June.
