Starling Marte (oblique) is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Padres.

Marte left Sunday's game with discomfort in his left side and will now miss his second straight start. He's considered day-to-day right now, but fantasy owners would be wise to have a backup plan this week. Sean Rodriguez will start in left field Tuesday.

Braves optioned INF/OF Joey Terdoslavich to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Terdoslavich has hit just .167 (4-for-24) with a home run in 14 games with the Braves this season. He figures to get another shot later this summer.

Braves recalled RHP Michael Foltynewicz from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Foltynewicz struggled with a 5.19 ERA over nine starts with the Braves prior to being demoted last month. He's returning in a relief role.

Phillies recalled RHP Severino Gonzalez from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

He'll replace Kevin Correia in the Phillies' rotation and start Thursday against the Dodgers. While Gonzalez has a 25/5 K/BB ratio over 25 innings in the big leagues this season, it has resulted in an ugly 8.28 ERA. He can't be trusted in fantasy leagues right now.
Jul 7 - 2:24 PM

Phillies designated RHP Kevin Correia for assignment.

Correia had an ugly 6.56 ERA across five starts with the Phillies. Severino Gonzalez will take his place in the starting rotation.

Jonathan Papelbon reiterated Monday that he would like to be traded to a contender.

"The front office knows where my heart is and where my mind is," said Papelbon, who was named to the National League All-Star team on Monday. "And that’s to be with a contending ball club. The ball is in their court, so to speak." The Cubs and the Blue Jays are among the teams who have been linked to Papelbon in recent weeks. The 34-year-old has a 1.65 ERA and 34/7 K/BB ratio over 32 2/3 innings this season while going 14-for-14 in save chances. He's making $13 million this season and his contract includes a $13 million option for 2016 which automatically vests if he finishes 20 more games. The Phillies would likely have to pick up some of his remaining salary in order to get a deal done.
Jul 7 - 12:40 PM

Joe Blanton will start against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Blanton was originally slated to move to the bullpen with Yordano Ventura coming off the disabled list, but the Royals will need another start from him because of Tuesday's doubleheader. Edinson Volquez will start Sunday.
Jul 7 - 11:46 AM

Yadier Molina is not in the Cardinals' lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cubs.

Tony Cruz will start behind the plate. Look for Molina to start the second game.
