Diamondbacks acquired RHP Chris Oliver, LHP Josh Taylor and the No. 9 international signing slot in exchange for the No. 1 international signing slot.
Oliver, a fourth-round pick in 2014, was ranked by MLB.com as the Phillies' No. 20 prospect coming into the season. He hold a 4.98 ERA and ugly 37/55 K/BB ratio over his first 86 2/3 minor league innings.
Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that Jason Grilli is "one of the closers the Blue Jays are looking at."
They've also been connected to Jonathan Papelbon and Francisco Rodriguez. Grilli has had a nice bounce-back season in Atlanta with a 2.93 ERA and 39/10 K/BB ratio over 30 2/3 innings. He's also potentially cost less than Papelbon or K-Rod, although Cafardo says the Braves aren't shopping him yet because they feel they're still in the playoff hunt.
Jerome Williams (hamstring) is headed to Double-A Reading to begin a rehab assignment.
Williams will make two rehab starts before likely rejoining the Phillies' rotation. As pathetic as it sounds given his 6.43 ERA, they could use him given how difficult it's been for them to find innings from their starters.
Ben Revere revealed Sunday that he's been battling a minor right hamstring issue of late.
It's unclear when the ailment first popped up, but it helps explain why Revere hasn't been playing much of late. The speedy outfielder is hitting .333 with 13 stolen bases over his last 43 games, but the Phillies have been trying hard to trade him of late. Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe has reported that the Phillies agreed to send Revere to the Angels for reliever Trevor Gott, but the Halos backed out of the deal.
Michael Cuddyer (knee) is back in the Mets' lineup.
Cuddyer missed four starts with a sore left knee, although he made an appearance both on Friday and Saturday. The veteran outfielder sports a disappointing .241/.294/.361 batting line this season.
Adam Wainwright (Achilles) is no longer wearing a walking boot on his left foot.
It's not clear what the next step is for the right-hander. Wainwright is holding out hope that he could be available late this season after having Achilles surgery in April, but the Cardinals will almost surely hold him out until spring training.
Nolan Arenado is not in the Rockies' lineup Sunday.
It's simply a day of rest for Arenado. Daniel Descalso is filling in at third base.
Cardinals recalled LHP Tim Cooney from Low-A Peoria.
Cooney will get another start during Tuesday's doubleheader in Chicago with Jaime Garcia (groin) going on the disabled list. The lefty pitched well his last time out, holding the Padres to two earned runs over six frames, but he's not a particularly enticing fantasy option.
