Adam Jones (ankle, hip) has been scratched from Monday's lineup against the Yankees.

Jones was in the original lineup, but he apparently didn't feel 100 percent during his morning workout. Consider him day-to-day. Joey Rickard will cover center field duties again.

Dodgers placed LHP Alex Wood on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 28, with left SC joint inflammation.

That's a bummer. Wood has been told that he can pitch through the issue, so it doesn't sound overly serious, but the Dodgers don't want to take any chances. There's no clear timetable for his return at the moment. Hyun-Jin Ryu is likely to take his place in the rotation for now.

Twins purchased the contract of LHP Jason Wheeler from Triple-A Rochester.

Wheeler, 26, has compiled a 4.50 ERA and 37/10 K/BB ratio in 44 innings over seven starts and one relief appearance in Triple-A this year. He'll be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.
May 29 - 11:56 AM

Twins recalled RHP Drew Rucinski from Triple-A Rochester.

This confirms a report from Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Rucinski appeared in one game with the Twins earlier this month and has a 2.95 ERA and 21/3 K/BB ratio over 18 1/3 innings in Triple-A this year. He'll pitch in middle relief.

Jacoby Ellsbury (concussion) is not ready to resume baseball activities.

Ellsbury was diagnosed with a concussion and a neck sprain after he collided with the outfield wall while making a catch last Wednesday. The Yankees will obviously take every precaution until the symptoms subside. Aaron Hicks will continue to receive regular playing time during his absence.
May 29 - 11:47 AM

Aroldis Chapman (shoulder) has resumed playing catch.

Chapman was shut down briefly with left rotator cuff inflammation, but he was able to do some throwing on back-to-back days over the weekend. He's not feeling any pain, but the Yankees are going to take it easy with him. Dellin Betances will continue to fill in at closer for now.
May 29 - 11:44 AM

The Dodgers are expected to add right-hander Brandon Morrow to the active roster on Monday.

Morrow owns a 5.71 ERA over 17 relief appearances in Triple-A this year, but he has a 17/4 K/BB ratio in 17 1/3 innings and has been much better this month. The oft-injured 32-year-old figures to pitch in middle relief.
May 29 - 11:39 AM

Nate Jones (elbow) threw another bullpen session Monday.

Jones threw 25 pitches and mixed in some sliders along the way. The southpaw has been out for nearly a month with left elbow neuritis, but he's getting closer to rejoining Chicago's bullpen. It's unclear if the White Sox want him to go on a rehab assignment first.
