Nicholas Castellanos homered twice to drive in three of the Tigers' four runs Tuesday against the Yankees.

Castellanos entered the night at .247/.267/.384 for the month. The Tigers are looking at shifting him to right field next month to make room in the lineup for Jeimer Candelario. Castellanos needs to show something there and finish the season with a decent stretch offensively to ensure that he remains in the Tigers' plans for 2018.

Ryon Healy slugged a solo home run and a two-run shot in Tuesday's win over the Orioles.

Healy took Ubaldo Jimenez deep with an opposite-field solo shot in the first inning and homered off the righty again in the fifth with a two-run blast to left. He also drew a walk on the night. Healy has now put together a nine-game hit streak, although these were his first two dingers during that stretch.

Manny Machado smacked a two-run homer Tuesday against the Athletics.

The Orioles were unable to solve starter Paul Blackburn, but they perked up a bit after he left with an injury and it started with Machado's blast off of Simon Castro in the sixth inning. It's the third baseman's ninth longball this month.

Jackie Bradley was removed from Tuesday's game against the Indians with a left thumb injury.

Bradley's left hand bent awkwardly at home plate as he scored (all the way from first base) on an Eduardo Nunez double in the top of the seventh inning. There should be more specifics on the injury after the game.

Homer Bailey left Tuesday's game against the Cubs after three innings due to irritation in his right shoulder.

Bailey was actually pitching quite well versus the defending World Series champs, but he got a visit from a trainer in the top of the third and Kevin Shackelford replaced him in the top of the fourth. Bailey is probably headed for some scans. He owns a brutal 7.99 ERA in 12 starts this season, even after going three scoreless innings on Tuesday night.

J.J. Hardy (wrist) finished 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored Wednesday in his second rehab game with Triple-A Norfolk.

Hardy also made a throwing error in an active but abbreviated night on the farm. He's likely to remain in the minors through the weekend given that he's missed two months with a fractured wrist. Tim Beckham will continue to plant his flag at the shortstop position.

Jason Kipnis was pulled from Tuesday's game against the Red Sox with hamstring tightness.

It's an injury he's been trying to play through for a while. Kipnis has hit well lately for the first-place Tribe, but it's looking like he could need another extended break. Yandy Diaz took over in the DH spot on Tuesday night. Jose Ramirez got the start at second base.

Hunter Pence was scratched from the Giants' lineup Tuesday due to a tight left hamstring.

It's a day-to-day thing for now, but a DL stint can't be ruled out given Pence's recent history with hamstring injuries. Gorkys Hernandez will start in right field and bat eighth Tuesday versus Brewers right-hander Matt Garza. Kelby Tomlinson is hitting second.
