Welington Castillo is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Astros.

It's just a routine day of rest. Chris Herrmann will start behind the plate and bat sixth against right-hander Lance McCullers.

Jordan Zimmermann (groin) had no issues doing pitchers' fielding practice on Monday.

This came one day after Zimmermann threw a bullpen session. "Today was another test and everything was fine," said Zimmermann. "I didn’t feel one single thing." The veteran right-hander will throw another bullpen session on Tuesday and if all goes well, he'll make his return Friday against the White Sox.

Domingo Santana (shoulder) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Biloxi.

Santana has been out since May 18 with a lingering injury to his right shoulder. The 23-year-old should be back with the Brewers within a week or so, but Jonathan Villar has run away with the leadoff spot during his absence.
May 31 - 11:11 AM

Astros activated OF Carlos Gomez from the 15-day disabled list.

Gomez, who has been out since May 15 with a bruised left rib cage, will make his return Tuesday. The 30-year-old went 5-for-20 (.250) with a homer over five games during his minor league rehab assignment with Double-A Corpus Christi. He was batting just .182/.238/.248 over 34 games prior to the injury. The Astros and fantasy owners are hoping that the time off did him some good.
May 31 - 11:07 AM

Twins recalled OF Byron Buxton from Triple-A Rochester.

Buxton will return to the majors after Danny Santana hit the disabled list with a hamstring injury. The 22-year-old hasn't hit so far in the majors, but he batted .336/.403/.603 with six homers, four steals, and a 26/11 K/BB ratio over 129 plate appearances after his demotion to Triple-A last month. He's no sure thing to succeed this time around, but it's not like the other internal options are all that exciting. The last-place Twins should just let him play.
May 31 - 10:41 AM

Red Sox activated LHP Eduardo Rodriguez from the 15-day disabled list.

Rodriguez, who injured his knee during spring training, will finally make his season debut Tuesday against the Orioles. The 23-year-old tossed seven innings of one-run ball with a 7/1 K/BB ratio in his final minor league rehab start last week. He showed some promise as a rookie last season, but most fantasy owners can afford to see how he fares for his first start or two before making him active.
May 31 - 10:35 AM

Mariners prospect right-hander Edwin Diaz has allowed one run in 9 2/3 innings with a 14/1 K/BB ratio since being moved to the bullpen with Double-A Jackson.

Diaz, who is regarded as the Mariners' best pitching prospect, appeared in back-to-back games for the first time over the weekend. The 22-year-old was moved to the bullpen in mid-May and could find his way to the majors in short order.
May 31 - 9:41 AM

Miguel Rojas left Monday's game against the Pirates with right shoulder irritation.

Rojas felt something on a swing during an at-bat in the third inning and was replaced by Derek Dietrich at second base. He'll be re-evaluated on Tuesday morning, but the hope is that he'll only miss a few days and avoid a stint on the disabled list.
