Bears rookie Jeremy Langford rushed nine times for 55 yards in the Bears' preseason finale.

He put a bow on his first NFL preseason with 153 yards on 28 runs (5.46 YPC), adding three receptions for 30 yards. Since a slow exhibition opener, Langford has begun to put heat on Jacquizz Rodgers for the Bears' primary backup job behind Matt Forte. In the event of a Forte injury, we suspect Rodgers and Langford would share time. Ka'Deem Carey could be the odd man out.

Texans QB Tom Savage exited the team's fourth preseason game with an apparent right shoulder (throwing) injury.

Savage's shoulder was driven into the ground after he made a throw in the fourth quarter. He is done for the game. Savage completed 18-of-30 passes for 135 yards, two touchdowns and an interception before leaving.

Browns rookie WR Vince Mayle caught two passes for 17 yards in Thursday night's preseason finale.

The Browns' fourth-round pick has been awful this preseason, showing no ability to outrun defensive backs even against second- and third-team defenses. He was flagged Thursday night for an illegal block on a 54-yard punt return by Darius Jennings, wiping out a big play. Mayle also was the intended target on a 25-yard pick six. Mayle will enter the weekend squarely on the roster bubble.

Terrance West rushed nine times for 35 yards and caught a 16-yard pass in the Browns' preseason finale.

Isaiah Crowell (rest) and Duke Johnson (concussion) did not play, and after the game coach Mike Pettine announced Crowell has the "edge" to start in Week 1 against the Jets. West has remained up-and-down in his second NFL preseason. He will probably mix in behind Crowell until Johnson gets healthy.

Browns coach Mike Pettine said Isaiah Crowell has the edge over Terrance West for the starting running back job.

Neither player has had a particularly exciting preseason, but Crowell is the more talented runner with the higher ceiling. Both players should get carries against the Jets Week 1, and Duke Johnson (concussion) will be in the mix as well once he returns. This backfield will once again be difficult to project week to week.

Chiefs rookie Chris Conley caught three balls for 38 yards and a touchdown in Thursday night's preseason finale.

Conley's touchdown came from 15 yards out on a skinny post, with Chase Daniel executing a pretty throw against zone coverage. Although straight-linish, Conley has big-play potential and should earn more and more looks with the first team as the Chiefs' season moves forward. He's a clear and present threat to Albert Wilson's starting job across from Jeremy Maclin.

Dwayne Bowe played into the third quarter of Thursday's preseason finale, catching 1-of-2 targets for eight yards.

The grab was Bowe's lone catch of the summer. Despite the fact that Bowe missed Cleveland's first two preseason games with a hamstring injury, it's extremely bizarre for a nine-year veteran — one who received $9.5 million guaranteed in March — to play into the third quarter of the final preseason game. It lends some credence to the scuttlebutt that Bowe's roster is in danger, though Browns in-house analyst Nathan Zegura has insisted that's not the case. What is the case is that Bowe isn't going to be a fantasy option catching passes from Josh McCown.

Andre Williams rushed eight times for 28 yards in Thursday’s preseason game against the Patriots.

Williams was targeted once but couldn’t reel in the catch. The Boston College product has followed up a lackluster rookie year with a similarly unproductive preseason (15 carries for 39 yards). He’s a plodder but Williams’ 230-pound frame could earn him some goal-line work this year. That should be enough to make him a late-round flyer.
