Billy Hamilton (Achilles) will return to game action this weekend.

Hamilton hasn't played since last weekend due to some minor Achilles soreness, although he said he would be playing if it were the regular season. Obviously his legs are the most important part of his game, so we can't take this lightly. However, it sounds like Hamilton should be fine.

Adrian Gonzalez (elbow) is back in the Dodgers' lineup Friday.

Gonzalez has dealt with an elbow issue on and off during camp, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go again. The first baseman has been limited to just 10 Cactus League plate appearances this spring, but he also got 12 at-bats during the World Baseball Classic.

Carlos Rodon was scratched from Friday's start and will undergo an MRI due to tightness in his left biceps.

Uh oh. The White Sox don't seem to think Rodon has any structural damage, but he's probably going to miss the first couple starts of the season, anyway. The left-hander was already being eased into things this spring as he was prepped for an increased workload in 2017, so he's not totally built up yet. Obviously, more will be known once the exam results are revealed.

Reds optioned OF Jesse Winker to Triple-A Louisville.

Winker has batted .273/.333/.409 with one home run over 44 at-bats during Cactus League play. He's one of the club's better position player prospects and will hope in 2017 to regain some of the pop he lost last season at Louisville (five homers).

A.J. Cole (triceps) threw a bullpen session Friday.

Cole was shut down for a few days with triceps soreness. He should have time to get ready by Opening Day if he can avoid a setback, but Cole is set to begin the year in the minors.
Mar 24 - 12:29 PM

Rangers manager Jeff Banister indicated Friday that A.J. Griffin is likely to be part of the team's rotation.

Griffin probably had a spot before Andrew Cashner (biceps) got injured, and he was a virtual shoo-in after that. The right-hander holds a 6.48 ERA this spring and put up a 5.07 mark last season for Texas, but he also struck out 107 over 119 innings. Griffin is more of an AL-only than mixed league option in fantasy leagues.
Mar 24 - 12:28 PM

Mauricio Cabrera is nursing some soreness in his right elbow.

The Braves haven't officially shut the reliever down yet, but his status for Opening Day is certainly in question. The hard-throwing Cabrera is penciled in as a setup man for Atlanta, if healthy.
Mar 24 - 12:23 PM

Desmond Jennings is dealing with some stiffness in his right hip flexor.

Jennings insisted it was no big deal, saying he could have played Friday had he been scheduled to. He has a good shot at a bench spot if healthy, although he hasn't helped himself with a .206/.310/.382 line this spring.
