Paul Goldschmidt went 3-for-5 with two homers and four RBI in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Brewers.

Goldschmidt more or less ruined Brewer starter Kyle Lohse's life, hitting a solo homer in the third inning before cranking a monster three-run shot in the fourth that went approximately 433 feet. Goldschmidt's now hitting .345/.448/.661 with 14 homers and 42 RBI. The numbers speak for themselves.

Jean Segura went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored in Saturday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Segura was the only Brewer player to pick up more than one hit in the 7-3 loss. He's fresh off the disabled list, having recovered from a fractured right pinkie finger, and in his two games back he's gone 3-for-8 with a double. Not too shabby. Segura's hitting .269/.310/.381 over 134 at-bats, the bulk of which came before the May 13 injury.

Adam Jones was diagnosed with a mild ankle sprain.

His X-rays came back negative. Jones missed only his sixth game in the last four seasons Saturday against the Rays. The four-time All-Star is day-to-day.

Bud Norris will make another rehab start Tuesday for Triple-A Norfolk.

After going 0-2 with a 15.26 ERA in his first two rehab outings, the Orioles decided Norris would need at least one more start before coming off the disabled list. He battled bronchitis earlier this month but that's well behind him. Mike Wright will likely lose his spot in the rotation when Norris returns to the big leagues.
May 30 - 7:11 PM

Jeremy Hellickson turned in a quality start in Saturday's win over the Brewers, allowing two runs over six innings.

Hellickson had the luxury of going against Kyle Lohse, who the Diamondbacks absolutely bombed for seven runs. He took advantage of his big lead and coasted through six innings, striking out three, walking one and even chipping in on offense with a pair of singles. After allowing isolated runs in the first and second innings, Hellickson kept the Brewers off the board during his remaining time on the mound. He'll take a 3-3 record, 5.08 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 39/18 K/BB ratio (over 56 2/3 innings) into his next outing, a home start against the Mets.
May 30 - 7:10 PM

Kyle Lohse was hit hard in Saturday's loss to the Diamondbacks, serving up 11 hits and seven runs over 3 1/3 innings.

The fourth inning would be Lohse's undoing, as Paul Goldschmidt cranked a three-run homer off the veteran to send him to the showers. Lohse has had a few poor starts this season and Saturday's ranks up there with the worst of them. He now holds an ugly 6.50 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 51/15 K/BB ratio in 62 1/3 innings. While he's been striking out batters at a decent clip, there's little else to recommend in those numbers. The former Twin will head to Minneapolis to take on his old club in his next start.
May 30 - 7:09 PM

Chris Carter went 1-for-3 with a solo homer in Saturday's win over the White Sox.

The home run was Carter's eighth of the season. After a miserable April, Carter's hitting .207/.304/.402 in May (87 at-bats). If he can get his power stroke going, it will make stomaching that average a lot easier. He's hit eight homers and driven in 27 runs this season.
May 30 - 7:00 PM

Yunel Escobar was ejected from Saturday's game against the Reds for arguing a called strike three.

He was tossed in the seventh inning. Danny Espinosa took over for Escobar at third base with Dan Uggla moving to second base. Escobar went 2-for-4 with a double before his ejection.
