Dodgers placed OF Yasiel Puig on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 25, with a left hamstring strain.

Apr 26 - 2:15 PM

Coco Crisp (elbow) could take batting practice by the end of the week.

Crisp is progressing ahead of schedule in his recovery from surgery to remove a bone spur and chips from his right elbow. It's possible he could return around mid-May.
Apr 26 - 2:14 PM

Mets signed INF Brooks Conrad to a minor league contract.

Conrad made it up to the majors briefly with the Padres last season but spent the bulk of the year in Triple-A, batting .278/.349/.529 with 18 homers. He's merely a depth guy.
Apr 26 - 1:57 PM

Yasiel Puig (hamstring) hit in the batting cage on Sunday.

It would seem to be a good sign that he's going to avoid the disabled list for now. Puig has missed two straight contests and six games overall across the last two weeks with a left hamstring injury.
Apr 26 - 1:54 PM

Sunday's game between the Giants and Rockies has been postponed due to rain.

No makeup date has been announced yet. Scheduled starters Tim Lincecum and Tyler Matzek will presumably be pushed back a day.
Apr 26 - 1:52 PM

Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Sunday.

It's the first time he's thrown off the bump since his left shoulder soreness cropped up in mid-March. The Dodgers have understandably proceeded cautiously with the southpaw, but Ryu has progressed well in recent weeks. He's still a long ways away from a return, however.
Apr 26 - 1:35 PM

Blue Jays sent RHP Todd Redmond outright to Triple-A Buffalo.

He cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and will remain in the organization. Redmond has allowed eight earned runs in 4 1/3 innings of relief this season for Toronto.
Apr 26 - 1:27 PM

Rockies recalled RHP Jorge Rondon from Triple-A Albuquerque.

He had allowed just one run over his first five relief appearances at Triple-A. Rondon will give manager Walt Weiss another option for the middle innings.
