White Sox prospect Carson Fulmer didn't get out of the fifth inning on Wednesday for Triple-A Charlotte.

Fulmer gave up six runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings, and while he did strike out three, he also walked five. That's not gonna work. As good as Fulmer's stuff can be, his command and control is basically making it impossible for him to be an effective starter. At some point, the White Sox are going to have to move him to the bullpen without drastic improvements.

White Sox prospect Lucas Giolito gave up three runs in five innings on Wednesday for Triple-A Charlotte.

Giolito was excellent in the first four innings, but struggled in the fifth to make his box score a bit deceiving. He struck out eight, and he allowed just four hits on the afternoon. The stuff has been much better in June, and despite the struggles in his last inning, this was another positive start.

Rockies activated LHP Tyler Anderson from the 10-day disabled list.

Anderson worked five innings of one-run ball with six strikeouts Sunday in a rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque. The left-hander missed three weeks with inflammation in his left knee.

Rockies optioned RHP Carlos Estevez to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Estevez allowed two runs in two innings of relief Wednesday night against the Diamondbacks and now holds an 8.10 ERA in 18 appearances this season at the major league level.

Brandon Drury is getting the day off Thursday.

Drury rattled off four hits and a career-high six RBI on Wednesday night, but he'll grab some rest during Thursday afternoon's series finale against the Rockies. Chris Owings is starting at second base and Nick Ahmed is at shortstop.
Jun 22 - 12:39 PM

David Peralta is not in the Diamondbacks' lineup Thursday afternoon against the Rockies.

Jeremy Hazelbaker will start in right field and bat leadoff versus Colorado right-hander Antonio Senzatela. It's just a quick breather for Peralta, who tallied four hits in Wednesday night's blowout victory. Brandon Drury is also on the bench Thursday for the Diamondbacks.
Jun 22 - 12:37 PM

Cubs signed first-round pick LHP Brendon Little.

Little was selected 27th overall in last week's draft out of Manatee JC in Florida. The left-hander has a plus-plus fastball and a good curveball, but he probably needs to develop a third pitch if he's going to flourish as a starting pitcher. He got a slightly below-slot bonus of $2.2 million.
Jun 22 - 12:12 PM

Cubs recalled RHP Dylan Floro from Triple-A Iowa.

Floro has allowed six earned runs in 6 1/3 innings this season for Chicago. The right-hander will work in a mop-up role.
