The Padres scored in each of the four innings in which Peralta appeared, including a three-spot in the second inning. The right-hander gave up eight hits, walked three, uncorked a wild pitch, and struck out two on the evening. He's shown promise at times this season, but has been prone to rough outings such as Monday's. Overall, Peralta carries a 4.55 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and a 40/19 K/BB ratio over 63 1/3 innings. He'll have to work against the Cardinals in a home start next.

Solarte put the Padres on the board early with a first-inning solo home run against Wily Peralta. He added a three-run home run to cap off a six-run seventh inning. The third baseman is on a nine-game hitting streak, the most recent four of which have included multiple hits. Solarte owns a productive .266/.319/.418 batting line with seven home runs and 40 RBI on the year.

They were four of nine hits Foltynewicz allowed along with a walk while recording zero strikeouts. The 23-year-old has taken a beating in the majors as he has a 5.40 ERA with a 1.59 WHIP and a 60/21 K/BB ratio over 66 2/3 innings. He'll get a good chance at a rebound when he hosts the Marlins in his next outing.

The Braves put 12 runners on base against Cain on 10 hits, a walk, and a hit batsman. All four runs scored in the bottom of the sixth, when Cain allowed two singles, a three-run home run, and a double before departing with no outs. The right-hander recorded only one strikeout on the evening. Cain has been inconsistent in his first six starts, owning a 4.91 ERA with a 1.45 WHIP and a 24/8 K/BB ratio over 33 innings. He'll look for better results at Wrigley Field versus the Cubs in his next start.
Buster Posey finished 2-for-6 with a home run and three RBI in Monday's 12-inning loss to the Braves.
Posey blasted a two-run home run to center field off of Michael Foltynewicz in the third inning, doubling the Giants' lead to 4-0. Brandon Crawford hit two home runs, but it wasn't enough as the Giants fell to the Braves in 12 innings on Monday.
Crawford went back-to-back with Brandon Belt in the second inning, then added a two-run homer in the fourth inning to send the Giants' lead to 6-0.
