Jacoby Ellsbury (knee) was scratched from Tuesday's rehab game with High-A Tampa.

There's no word yet on what caused Ellsbury to be scratched. He went 0-for-3 in his first rehab contest on Monday from the designated hitter spot and was slated to play center field Tuesday. The Yankees should have an update on his status shortly.

Corey Hart (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

Hart is eligible for activation from the disabled list in a week and should be ready at that time. He's been out with a left shoulder impingement.

Freddie Freeman (wrist) might be held out until after the All-Star break.

The Braves had been optimistic about getting him back before the break, but that's looking unlikely now. Freeman hasn't had a setback with his right wrist, but it makes sense to give him a little extra time. "We were hoping we could get him shortly after the 15 days, but I think it’s going to be a little longer than that," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "Not quite sure how much longer. We had our fingers crossed and were optimistic to get him (then or soon after), but I think it’s going to be little longer."

Robert Murray of BaseballEssential.com reports that the Braves and Mariners are the "frontrunners" to sign Erik Kratz.

Kratz elected free agency on Monday after clearing waivers. His defense isn't great, but the 35-year-old has some pop and wouldn't be a bad backup catcher for someone.

Matt Cain (forearm) will return to the Giants' starting rotation on Thursday against the Marlins.

Cain had been lined up to make his 2015 regular-season debut on Friday, but the Giants need him to step up and take Tim Lincecum's spot. Lincecum is headed to the disabled list with a forearm bruise. Cain has been decent on his lengthy minor league rehab assignment and is worth a shot in most mixed fantasy leagues.
Jun 30 - 5:48 PM

Tim Lincecum (forearm) will be placed on the disabled list Thursday.

Lincecum suffered a right forearm contusion in his start Saturday against the Rockies. It's not a serious injury, but the Giants need a spot for Matt Cain anyway.
Jun 30 - 5:41 PM

Scott Feldman (knee) could begin a minor league rehab assignment on Saturday.

He'll first have to make it through another bullpen session later this week. Feldman has been on the disabled list since May 27 with a torn meniscus in his right knee. Look for him to return after the All-Star break.
Jun 30 - 5:38 PM

Jake Marisnick (hamstring) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Wednesday with Triple-A Fresno.

Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle suspects that Marisnick will be cleared to rejoin the Astros' active roster next Monday in Cleveland. The 24-year-old outfielder has been on the shelf since June 19 with a strained hamstring. He boasts five homers and 11 stolen bases in 62 games this season.
