Byron Buxton (migraines) could be activated from the disabled list as soon as Wednesday.

Buxton will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Fort Myers on Sunday, serving as their designated hitter. He's slated to play center field for them on Monday and Tuesday before then rejoining the Twins assuming all goes well. Buxton has missed the last week of action because of migraines.

Yoan Moncada (hamstring) is in the White Sox' lineup Sunday.

Moncada was lifted from Saturday's game as a precaution with some left hamstring tightness, but obviously the ailment isn't seen as a big deal. The young second baseman is sporting a .209/.321/.403 batting line through his first 17 games this season.
Apr 22 - 10:53 AM

Clay Buchholz could be called up to start during Saturday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

Signed to a minor league contract last month, Buchholz has been moved up to Triple-A Omaha, where he will start Sunday. He tossed 4 2/3 scoreless innings in a start for Double-A Northwest Arkansas last week. Buchholz had flexor tendon surgery last April and remains a poor health bet moving forward, but the 33-year-old is a viable rotation option for the Royals for as long as he can stay on the field.

Todd Frazier is not in the Mets' lineup Sunday because of a sore toe as a result of being spiked Saturday.

Manager Mickey Callaway noted that he was looking to give Frazier his first day off of the season, anyway, so this ailment doesn't appear to be a big deal. Frazier should be back in there Tuesday after Monday's off day. Wilmer Flores is at third base Sunday.

Yankees purchased the contract of RHP David Hale from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Hale had posted a 5.52 ERA across three starts for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He'll provide the Yankees' bullpen with some length.
Apr 22 - 10:40 AM

Yankees designated INF/OF Jace Peterson for assignment.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for David Hale. Peterson has been designated for assignment twice this month and can declare free agency if he wants.
Apr 22 - 10:39 AM

Yankees optioned INF/OF Tyler Wade to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Wade wasn't going to play much with Gleyber Torres now up. He'll operate in a utility role for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Jay Bruce - OF - Mets

Jay Bruce is not in the Mets' lineup Sunday.

He's just getting a breather. Brandon Nimmo will cover right field in Bruce's place.
