Paul Goldschmidt went 2-for-2 with two doubles, three walks and three runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Braves.

Just a nice all-around game for Goldschmidt in this one. He has walked eight times in his last four games. For the campaign as a whole, the All-Star first baseman is slashing .314/.436/.569 with 21 homers, 75 RBI, 80 runs scored and 15 steals across an even 100 games played.

Ian Desmond (calf) is not available for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Desmond required a stint on the disabled list for a right calf injury earlier this month, then came back after the All-Star break only to re-injure that same calf in Tuesday's game against the Cards. With a natural off day on Thursday, Desmond now has two days to rest up before the Rockies take on the Nationals for a three-game series this weekend.

Jon Morosi of FOX Sports reports that if the Twins continue to struggle, they would consider moving Ervin Santana and Jaime Garcia.

The Twins have lost six of their last 10 games. They just traded for Garcia, but if they decide to declare themselves as deadline sellers, he could potentially move again. Santana is the more alluring candidate, though, having pitched to a 3.26 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in this surprise All-Star campaign.

Freddie Freeman went 2-for-4 with a double in Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Freeman is up to 17 doubles on the season, now. In addition, the infielder boasts a sizzling .332/.435/.683 triple-slash with 18 homers and 39 RBI across 56 games played. Freeman has picked up hits in eight of his last 10 games and looks to be completely removed from the broken wrist which sidelined him earlier this season.
Jul 26 - 8:02 PM

Dansby Swanson went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Swanson picked up double No. 14 of the season in the defeat. The 23-year-old shortstop has largely struggled this season, hitting just .213/.287/.312 with six homers, 35 RBI and 36 runs scored in 324 at-bats. His two hits on Wednesday snapped an 0-for-15 skid. Braves manager Brian Snitker has not ruled out the possibility that Swanson could potentially be sent down to the minors given his issues this year.
Jul 26 - 7:58 PM

Patrick Corbin pitched unevenly in Wednesday's win over the Braves, allowing two runs on seven hits over six innings while walking four.

Most of the numbers on Corbin's line are fine, but the walks stand out in the negative. The 28-year-old southpaw managed to throw just 65 of 115 pitches for strikes in the contest. Up next on the docket as he tries for sharper control, a road showdown with the Cubs. Corbin will bring a 4.36 ERA and 1.51 WHIP (21 starts) into that outing.
Jul 26 - 7:51 PM

Will Harris (shoulder) struck out two over a clean inning of work in a minor league rehab game with High-A Buies Creek on Wednesday.

Harris threw 15 pitches during his appearance. He could potentially rejoin the Astros' bullpen for this weekend's series against the Tigers. Right shoulder inflammation has kept him out of the fray since July 15.

The Rockies will skip Antonio Senzatela next time through the rotation.

Senzatela will not be starting next time out, but he will be available out of the bullpen. The Rockies have two off days in the next five days, hence why they have the luxury to play around with their rotation. The 22-year-old Senzatela is the owner of a 4.84 ERA in 102 1/3 innings this season.
