Brian Dozier is sitting out Friday due to right hamstring soreness.

Dozier injured himself while exiting the batter's box on Wednesday. He said he could have played Friday, but the decision was made to give him an extra day of rest. Dozier expects to be back in there Saturday. Eduardo Nunez is at second base Friday.

Brandon McCarthy (elbow) could be ready for a rehab assignment within the next 10-14 days.

The would put him on track potentially to rejoin the Dodgers' rotation by mid-June if all goes well. Working his way back from Tommy John surgery, McCarthy has been throwing off a mound for a while now and is doing well.
May 6 - 5:35 PM

Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder, groin) could be 10-14 days away from beginning a rehab assignment.

Ryu is working his way back from shoulder surgery and had a setback last month when he strained his groin. He's been throwing for a couple weeks now, though, and isn't far from being ready for games. If all goes well, he could rejoin the Dodgers in mid-June.
May 6 - 5:32 PM

Mike Bolsinger (oblique) could begin a rehab assignment within the next 10-14 days.

Bolsinger has been out since late in spring training with a strained oblique, but he's evidently turned a corner of late. He'll be an option for the back-end of the Dodgers' rotation once he's ready, although the club is also slated to get Brandon McCarthy (elbow) and Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder, groin) back before too long.
May 6 - 5:30 PM

Coco Crisp (heel) could be available off the bench on Friday.

Crisp hasn't played since Monday due to a heel issue but is feeling better. He's hitting .208/.293/.389 with three homers and four steals on the season.
May 6 - 5:27 PM

Henderson Alvarez (shoulder) might only need two more rehab starts before joining the Athletics' rotation.

Manager Bob Melvin said Friday that the club got a good report on Alvarez's last rehab outing on Thursday when he allowed one run over 4 2/3 innings. Barring a setback, he'll be in the A's rotation before the end of the month.
May 6 - 5:26 PM

Ben Zobrist smacked a solo homer and a three-run blast in Friday's victory over the Nationals.

He took Max Scherzer out to right field in the third and again in the fifth. Zobrist also drew a pair of walks, reaching base in all four trips to the plate. The 34-year-old has gone deep four times in his last three games and is now sporting a nifty .277/.398/.489 batting line.
May 6 - 5:23 PM

The blister on Shane Greene's right middle finger split open while he was throwing Thursday.

It's unclear at this point how long this will set him back. Greene just resumed throwing on Tuesday. The setback means Michael Fulmer should remain in the Tigers' rotation for a while longer.
