Michael Conforto went 2-for-5 with two solo home runs in Friday's 7-5 win over the Mariners.

Conforto socked a solo home run off Ariel Miranda in the third inning and repeated the feat against Mike Rzepczynski in the eighth. This was the 24-year-old outfielder's fourth multi-homer game of the campaign. He has been crushing it to the tune of a .291/.398/.586 triple-slash with 21 homers and 54 RBI over the course of 85 games played this season.

Jay Bruce - OF - Mets

Jay Bruce went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's win over the Mariners.

Bruce took Ariel Miranda deep for the two-run shot in the top of the first inning. He has now homered in back-to-back contests and has swatted three home runs in his last eight games. The outfielder is slashing .265/.329/.531 with 27 homers and 72 RBI in 95 games played. Bruce could potentially move in trade over the weekend, though MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reported on Monday that neither he nor Curtis Granderson had been receiving much interest.

Mike Zunino went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Friday's loss to the Mets.

Zunino jump-started the Mariners on the comeback trail from down 4-0 with his solo homer off Rafael Montero in the third inning. He has been swinging a big power stick of late, with homers in back-to-back games and four long balls in his last eight contests. For the season as a whole, Zunino is slashing .231/.303/.487 with 16 homers and 43 RBI over the course of 74 games played. He is closing in on the career-best 22 home runs he cracked with Seattle back in 2014.

Kyle Seager went 1-for-3 with a two-run single and a walk in Friday's loss to the Mets.

Seager turned a 4-3 deficit around with his two-run single in the fifth inning. That hit brought the Mariners all the way back from a 4-0 disadvantage, but the Mets would spoil the good vibes with three runs in the eighth inning. While Seager is hitting just .256/.329/.435 on the season, the third baseman has shown that he might be ready to put together a hot streak. He has now picked up hits in five straight games.
Jul 29 - 2:15 AM

Rafael Montero surrendered five runs on three hits over 4 2/3 innings while taking a no-decision in Friday's win over the Mariners.

Montero was working with a 4-0 lead heading into the bottom of the third inning before the Mariners started to chip away. Mike Zunino would burn him for a solo home run in the frame, with the other four runs on his line scoring in the fourth inning. Two of those came home as inherited runners after Montero exited stage left with two outs. He finished the evening having struck out five and -- shield your eyes -- walked five. Up next on the docket, a road start against the Rockies. Montero will carry a rough 5.56 ERA and 1.73 WHIP into that affair.
Jul 29 - 2:09 AM

Ariel Miranda allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits while striking out 10 over six innings and taking a no-decision in Friday's loss to the Mets.

This was Miranda's first double-digit strikeout game of the season. He had a few hiccups early -- Jay Bruce rocked a two-run homer off the southpaw in the first inning and Michael Conforto socked a solo homer off him as part of a two-run third -- but ultimately settled in for a respectable enough six innings of work. Miranda will bring a 4.31 ERA and 1.15 WHIP into a road date with the Rangers in his next scheduled outing.
Jul 29 - 2:08 AM

Jason Castro went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI doubles and a run scored in Friday's win over the A's.

Castro hit RBI doubles in the fourth and fifth innings. He has been seeing the ball well of late, picking up multiple hits in three of his last six games. The backstop has four doubles in that space. For the season as a whole, Castro is slashing .229/.317/.378 with six homers and 32 RBI across 249 at-bats.
Jul 29 - 2:06 AM

Brandon Kintzler picked up his 28th save of the season courtesy of scoreless ninth inning in Friday's win over the A's.

Kintzler had surrendered four runs in his last two appearances (1 2/3 innings), but while he did walk Bruce Maxwell to lead off the ninth inning on Friday, he did not let history repeat itself and closed out the rest of the frame without issue, helping the Twins to secure a 6-3 win. Kintzler is a name to watch as a trade candidate over the next three days. He is pitching to a 2.78 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 27/11 K/BB ratio in 45 1/3 innings this season and has converted 28-of-32 save opportunities on the year.
