Astros placed RHP Charlie Morton on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 25, with a strained right lat.

Morton evidently must have suffered the injury during his last start or perhaps his between-starts bullpen session. Either way, he's going to be sidelined for a while. Mike Fiers had been slated to head to the bullpen with Brad Peacock taking his rotation spot, but he should be given a reprieve now.

Tigers purchased the contract of OF Alex Presley from Triple-A Toledo.

He's taking Tyler Collins' spot on the roster. Presley, 31, received the promotion despite a .213/.278/.303 batting line at Toledo. He should see a bit of playing time in center field.
May 28 - 9:30 AM

Tigers designated OF Tyler Collins for assignment.

Collins had plenty of opportunities between the Tigers' wide open center field job and J.D. Martinez missing the first six weeks of the season, but he put up an ugly .200/.288/.338 batting line. The 29-year-old might wind up clearing waivers.

Adrian Beltre (calf) could be activated from the disabled list Monday.

Beltre has returned to Texas after playing three extended spring training games. He'll be re-evaluated Monday as the Rangers return home for the beginning of a homestand, and all signs are pointing toward Beltre returning from the disabled list. The third baseman has been out all season with a strained right calf.

Asher Wojciechowski will start on Tuesday in Toronto.

He's taking Amir Garrett's (hip) spot in the Reds' rotation. Wojciechowski earned the chance by posting a 1.40 ERA over five starts at Triple-A Louisville and then allowing one earned run over four relief innings with Cincinnati. The 28-year-old will be making his first start in the majors since April of 2015.

Nick Hundley finished 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Saturday's game against the Braves.

Hundley has answered the bell lately when given the opportunity to play, going 9-for-25 (.360) with a double, home run and four RBI over the past nine games, raising his average from .207 to .253 just since May 6. Still, he doesn't play frequently enough to warrant fantasy consideration outside of deeper NL-only leagues.
May 28 - 3:39 AM

Eduardo Nunez was hitless in three at-bats with a walk in Saturday's game against the Braves, snapping his hitting streak at 12 games.

Nunez entered the day with the second-longest hitting streak in the majors, but just couldn't punch one past the defense. He is still hitting .353 (18-for-51) with eight runs scored, two homers and nine RBI over the past 13 games. Nunez remains a solid play in most fantasy formats and DFS play.
May 28 - 3:33 AM

Mark Melancon needed just four pitches to record two outs in Saturday's appearance against the Braves, nailing down his 10th save.

Melancon is a perfect 5-for-5 in save opportunities in the month of May, allowing just one earned run across 4 2/3 innings. He hasn't show any ill effects from the elbow injury which landed him on the 10-day disabled list to kick off the month of May. Overall he has walked just one batter while recording 12 strikeouts across 14 1/3 innings.
