The Philly Inquirer suggests Riley Cooper's role in the Eagles' offense has been diminished this season by the addition of Darren Sproles and ascension of second-year TE Zach Ertz.

And it doesn't help that Cooper has played very poorly. He has just 37 yards on 11 targets and dropped a touchdown in last Monday night's win over the Colts. Cooper basically admitted he's a role player in Chip Kelly's offense. "Those are the type of people he wants in here," Cooper said of Kelly. "He doesn't want ... me complaining about, 'I'm not getting this many catches.' I just want to win games." Cooper is a WR4/5 in fantasy leagues.

ESPN Giants reporter Dan Graziano has gotten indications from the coaches that Rashad Jennings will be asked to help in pass protection this week.

The Giants' shaky offensive line is going to need all the help they can get dealing with J.J. Watt. It appears they'll ask Jennings to stay in and help, or at least chip. Jennings, who has four catches in each of the first two games, may not get there this week.

Andre Ellington (foot) is reportedly walking better and less sore this week.

Even on a bad foot, Ellington has rushed 28 times for 144 yards (5.14 YPC) and caught six balls for 37 yards through two games. Now he's getting healthier, has a home game against a 49ers defense that is far from dominant Sunday and then gets the Week 4 bye to rest up. Owners just need to realize that Ellington will lose goal-line work to Jalen Parmele.

Coach Ron Rivera said he's concerned with Jerricho Cotchery's (hamstring) status for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Steelers.

Cotchery did not practice Friday and will be reevaluated Saturday. If he can't go, we can expect Kelvin Benjamin to get another 2-3 targets. Benjamin was already a strong Week 3 play as he'll see a lot of burnable Steelers CB Ike Taylor.

DeSean Jackson (shoulder) did not appear 100 percent fluid when reaching above his head to make catches during Friday's practice.

Jackson only participated in the individual drill portion of practice. It's clear his sprained left shoulder is not 100 percent, but he's going to do everything he can to suit up against the team that cut him. The Redskins plan to work Jackson out with trainers on Saturday and again on Sunday morning before making a final decision on his status. We'll know by noon ET Sunday.

Knile Davis got the first rep with the starting offense at Friday's practice, but Jamaal Charles (ankle) got the next two.

It doesn't give us much information on Charles' status. For now, we can only call him a true game-time decision ahead of Sunday's 4:25pm ET start. "We appreciate his effort," coach Andy Reid said of Charles. "He came in and pushed through this thing. If he can't go he can't go. The other guys have practiced." Owners of both Davis and Charles need to be prepared with late-swap options.

Toby Gerhart (ankle) is listed as probable for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Colts.

Gerhart was a full participant in Friday's practice. A poor offensive line and a crowded box are legit concerns, but the matchup won't get any better. Gerhart is our No. 31 running back this week.
