Jaime Barria allowed six runs over four innings while taking a loss against the Diamondbacks on Monday.

Barria has been solid this year for the Angels, but he didn't have his normally crisp stuff in the loss to Arizona on Monday. The one positive was that he was able to strike out five while walking one, but he gave up two homers and was mostly ineffective. That'll happen for rookie starters; baseball is hard. Barria still has a solid 3.57 ERA, and he'll look to lower that in his next start on Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Zack Greinke allowed three runs over 6 1/3 innings in a victory over the Angels on Monday.

Greinke did allow seven hits, but the damage was limited to two solo homers. He walked two and struck out five in the victory. Greinke will take a 6-5 record over 15 starts and 3.90 ERA along with an impressive 95/19 strikeout-to-walk ratio into his next scheduled start against the Pirates on Sunday.

Pablo Sandoval hit a two-run homer in a loss to the Marlins on Monday.

Sandoval took Caleb Smith deep in the second inning, and the homer gives him six on the season. He continues a strong reclamation season for the Giants, and he's now slashing .271/.340/.457 in his 58 games with San Francisco in 2018.

Lewis Brinson went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI in a victory over the Giants on Monday.

He also walked. Brinson came up clutch for the Marlins on Monday, lining an opposite-field single in the top of the ninth to tie the game at 4-4 off of Hunter Strickland. The rookie outfielder still has an ugly .183/.226/.326 line on the 2018 season, but there's been just enough games like this over his MLB career to suggest he just might be a regular and live up to his prospect hype.

Kyle Barraclough picked up his sixth save of the season while working a perfect ninth against the Giants on Monday.

Barraclough struck out one while not allowing any baserunners in the save. The right-hander has been just as effective working out of the closer role, and in addition to the six saves, he owns a minuscule 1.11 ERA and 0.77 WHIP over 32 1/3 innings in 33 appearances.
Jun 19 - 1:08 AM

Miguel Rojas drove in three runs while going 2-for-4 in a 5-4 victory over the Giants on Monday.

Rojas had the biggest hit of the game, finishing a two-run comeback against the Giants with a knock against Hunter Strickland to score Cameron Maybin and give the Marlins the lead, and ultimately, the victory. The three runs batted in give him 27 on the season, and he's now slashing .235/.301/.350 over 71 games.

Caleb Smith allowed four runs over four innings in a no decision against the Giants on Monday.

Smith didn't have his best stuff in this one, allowing six hits and two walks over the four innings. Even with the lackluster effort he still sports a respectable 3.91 ERA, and he's struck out 87 hitters in 76 innings. Smith will try to improve those numbers on Sunday, but he'll have to do it while pitching in Coors Field against the Rockies.

Andrew Suarez gave up just two runs in 6 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts in a no decision against the Marlins on Monday.

Suarez was facing the Marlins for the second-straight start, and the southpaw once again pitched reasonably well. He allowed five hits, and he walked one and struck out seven. He still sports a 4.70 ERA, but there have been flashes that suggest Suarez can be a quality backend starter. He'll start again on Saturday when Suarez and the Giants face the Padres in San Diego.
