Cowboys RCB Morris Claiborne (hamstring) will not play in Week 15 against the Redskins.
Claiborne's rehab has been slowed due to the sudden death of his father and the birth of his baby girl. Orlando Scandrick will fill in once again at right corner, while rookie B.W. Webb will be the third corner in nickel packages.
Coach Bruce Arians said he expects Larry Fitzgerald (concussion) to play in Sunday's Week 16 game against the Seahawks.
Arians made his weekly appearance on Sirius XM Radio. He said Fitzgerald is still going through the league's concussion protocol but expressed optimism regarding his star receiver's status for an important game on the road in a hostile environment. Fitzgerald is not expected to practice Wednesday, instead getting some rest, but there's a chance he could be back on the field later in the week. Even if he does play, we wouldn't trust Fitz as more than a WR3.
Falcons RE Osi Umenyiora didn't start in last week's win over the Redskins and may play in a reserve role the final two weeks of the season.
The 4-10 Falcons have been trying to get looks at younger players. Umenyiora started the first 13 games of the season, but second-year DE Jonathan Massaquoi got the start Sunday. Umenyiora leads the team with his 7.5 sacks. But on a two-year deal as a 32-year-old, Umenyiora may be one-and-done in Atlanta.
Saints signed K Shayne Graham.
Graham worked out for the Saints last month when they were browsing free-agent kickers with Garrett Hartley struggling. Hartley never improved and was cut Tuesday. Graham spent a week with the Steelers earlier this season but never attempted a kick. He made 31-of-38 field goals for the Texans last season.
Chiefs placed TE Dominique Jones on the reserve/non-football illness list.
Jones' illness is undisclosed. A second-year undrafted free agent, Jones was active for only two games.
Saints waived CB Chris Carr.
The nine-year veteran was on his second stint with the Saints this season. Carr had made 16 tackles in 11 games, notching one interception. On the wrong side of 30, Carr has made just one start since the end of the 2010 season. He's unlikely to land elsewhere with just two weeks left in the regular season.
Saints waived K Garrett Hartley.
Hartley had struggled for the better part of the season, but the Saints reached the breaking point in Sunday's loss to the Rams. Hartley shanked a 26-yard kick in domed Edward Jones Stadium, and had a 36-yard attempt blocked. Hartley was just 22-of-30 on the year, good for 30th in field-goal percentage. The Saints' full-time kicker since 2010, Hartley had gone through funks before, and been unusually injury prone for a kicker. The Saints have yet to announce his replacement. Hartley will likely resurface at some point.
Broncos waived C J.D. Walton.
The Broncos' starting center in 2010-11, Walton was limited to four games by a broken ankle in 2012. The injury lingered into 2013, where Walton began the year on the reserve/PUP list. He was activated on November 5, but had yet to appear in a game. Walton's release is a vote of confidence in C Manny Ramirez. Walton graded out as Pro Football Focus' worst center in 2011. He'll have to prove he's healthy before someone takes a flier on him for 2014.
