Jose Urena allowed five runs in 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Giants on Wednesday.

Urena allowed eight hits, and he walked two while striking out five. The right-hander breezed through the first five innings, but gave up five runs in the sixth inning as he struggled against the Giants in their third time seeing him in the game. There have been moments of good for Urena, but there have been just as many -- if not more -- struggles in 2018. He takes a 4.40 ERA into his next start against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Derek Holland gave up three runs in six-plus innings with seven strikeouts in a victory over the Marlins on Wednesday.

Holland has struggled to get deep into games in 2018, but he was able to pitch into the seventh in this one. Unfortunately he gave up two runs in that seventh inning, and exited without getting an out. It was still a relatively strong start for the southpaw, even if it didn't end quite as well as he'd have liked. Holland's next scheduled start comes Tuesday against the Rockies.

Julio Teheran will start on Sunday against the Orioles.

Teheran had some cramping issues in his first start off the disabled list on Sunday, but he'll be good to go against Baltimore. He was excellent in his previous outing, throwing six no-hit innings and striking out 11 against the Padres.
Jun 20 - 6:48 PM

Brandon Kintzler (forearm) threw a bullpen session on Wednesday.

It's the first time that Kintzler has been on the mound since he was placed on the disabled list on June 10 with a flexor strain in his right forearm. Assuming he doesn't feel soreness in the arm after the session, he should be able to go on a rehab assignment soon, with a chance to join the Washington bullpen near the beginning of July.

Orioles optioned INF Corban Joseph to Double-A Bowie.

The 29-year-old Joseph is sent down to make room for Andrew Cashner, who is starting for the Orioles on Wednesday. Joseph will likely be sent up to Triple-A Norfolk at some point, where he was hitting .336/.394/.550 with eight homers and 34 RBI over 59 games with the Tide.
Jun 20 - 6:32 PM

Orioles activated Andrew Cashner (back) off the 10-day disabled list.

Cashner is back, and will start Wednesday night's game against the Nationals. He returns with a 4.98 ERA, and offers very little fantasy value in all formats.

Jay Bruce - OF - Mets

An MRI revealed that Jay Bruce is dealing with a strain in his right hip.

Bruce was placed on the disabled list on June 19 -- retroactive to June 18 -- with a hip injury after missing four of the past five games with discomfort in his hip and back. Signed to a $39 million, three-year deal in the offseason, Bruce is hitting .212/.292/.321 with three homers and 17 RBI in 236 plate appearances with the Mets. He should be back with New York by the end of June.
Jun 20 - 6:19 PM

The Orioles will have 48 hours after Wednesday to decide whether to activate Colby Rasmus (from the 60 day DL).

The Orioles will have to decide whether or not to activate Rasmus from the 60-day disabled list with a left hip flxor strain, or to designate him for assignment. He's struggled in his rehab games at the lower levels, and Baltimore might decide that the outfielder doesn't add enough value in the rebuilding season to place him on the 25-man roster. We should find out more on Thursday.
