Cody Bellinger slugged a monstrous grand slam to lead the Dodgers to a 5-2 victory over the Mets on Friday.

His sixth-inning second deck blast off Zack Wheeler proved to be the difference in the ballgame. It was his second career grand slam. Bellinger has been pretty quiet since homering in four straight games earlier this month, but he’s now up to 13 homers on the year to go along with a disappointing .232/.323/.459 batting line.

Alex Wood improved to 3-5 on the year after limiting the Mets to two runs over six innings on Friday.

The only damage was a two-run blast from Jose Bautista in the sixth inning. Wood gave up six hits in all while walking one and striking out seven. He’s now won back-to-back starts for the first time this season. The southpaw will bring a 4.13 ERA into a start against the Cubs next week.

Zack Wheeler surrendered four runs in seven innings of work in Friday’s loss to the Dodgers.

Wheeler was moving along great until the sixth inning, when he issued back-to-back walks to begin the frame before giving up a one-out single to Matt Kemp. Cody Bellinger then brought them all home with a massive grand slam. Wheeler fanned seven and walked three in the loss. He hasn’t won a start since April 29, but he’s looked pretty good recently while seeing an uptick in his velocity.

Kenley Jansen secured his 19th save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning against the Mets on Friday.

Jansen set the Mets aside in order on 12 pitches, including a pair of strikeouts. He now hasn’t allowed a hit (or a run) in his last six appearances. There was much concern about Jansen at the start of the season, but he here is with a 2.34 ERA through 33 appearances.

Yasiel Puig finished 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Friday’s win over the Mets.

Puig provided some late insurance with a solo homer off Chris Beck in the ninth inning. The 27-year-old has been in a bit of a rut recently, so this was his first multi-homer game since June 12. Still, he’s recovered nicely since a disappointing first month of the season. He’s batting .256/.324/.458 with nine homers, 27 RBI, and six steals through 61 games overall.

Jose Bautista went 2-for-4 with his first homer in a Mets uniform Friday against the Dodgers.

The homer was a two-run shot against Alex Wood in the sixth inning. It ended up being the only offense of the night for New York. Bautista is at least getting on base these days, but he’s going to show more power to find his way back into fantasy consideration.

Eugenio Suarez clobbered his 16th home run of the season on Friday, powering the Reds to a 6-3 victory over the Cubs.

His two-run shot off of Jose Quintana gave the Reds a 4-3 lead in the fifth inning, one they wouldn't relinquish. He also added a pair of singles in the contest, finishing the night 3-for-4. He's having a tremendous season at the dish, slashing .304/.390/.585 with 16 homers and 57 RBI.

Jose Peraza went 1-for-4 with a run scored and three stolen bases in Friday's victory over the Cubs.

Peraza also drew a walk in the contest. He's now hitting .268/.312/.334 with 13 stolen bases on the year. He has stepped up his game lately, and with top prospect Nick Senzel hitting well at Triple-A, he may have needed to in order to keep his starting gig.
