Dustin Pedroia (knee) returned to the Red Sox' starting lineup on Saturday.

Pedroia was removed from Thursday's game with a minor knee injury and sat out on Friday as a precautionary measure. He's hitting second against Rob Whalen and the Mariners on Saturday.

Angels activated RHP Mike Morin from the 10-day disabled list.

Morin has been sidelined since April 21 due to a neck injury. He made it through a rehab assignment at Triple-A Salt Lake without any issue and is ready to resume his middle relief role in the Angels' bullpen.

Angels optioned RHP Daniel Wright to Triple-A Salt Lake.

The Angels were in need of an extra bullpen arm with Bud Norris sidelined, so they sent out Wright in exchange for Mike Morin. He should get another chance with the big league club soon.

Daniel Murphy is once again out of the Nationals' starting lineup on Saturday.

Acting manager Chris Speier indicated nothing was wrong physically on Friday, but it's a troubling sign that he's sitting out a second straight game. Wilmer Difo is starting in his place again and batting eighth for the Nationals on Saturday.
May 27 - 12:17 PM

J.D. Martinez is not in the Tigers' starting lineup for the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

He'll surely be back in there for the nightcap. JaCoby Jones is starting in his place in right field and batting eighth against Tyler Danish on Saturday afternoon.
May 27 - 12:14 PM

Tigers recalled OF JaCoby Jones from Triple-A Toledo.

Jones struggled after being named the club's Opening Day center fielder and was ultimately sent down after getting hit in the face by a pitch. He'll provide depth in center field while Andrew Romine covers for the injured Ian Kinsler at second base.
May 27 - 12:00 PM

Tigers optioned LHP Chad Bell to Triple-A Toledo.

Bell was the victim of the Tigers needing a fresh arm in the bullpen as he had pitched fairly well, with a 2.70 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 7/5 K/BB ratio in 10 innings. He should get another chance with the big league club soon.
May 27 - 11:57 AM

Rangers manager Jeff Bannister said Saturday that Tyson Ross (shoulder) will make another minor league rehab start with Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.

If all goes well in that outing, he could return to the Rangers' rotation next weekend against the Astros. The veteran right-hander has worked his way back from thoracic outlet surgery, but it may be best to watch a couple of starts before inserting him back into fantasy lineups.
