The Lakers are reportedly closing in on a multi-year deal with agent Rob Pelinka to install him as Los Angeles' next GM.

The agent-to-GM move worked out pretty well for the Warriors, so the Lakers will try and replicate that success by bringing in Pelinka, who is a well-respected agent around the league. He still needs to divest from his agency, so it could take a couple days before this thing becomes official.

Serge Ibaka is expected to practice in full with the Raptors on Wednesday.

Ibaka wasn't able to make his Toronto debut for the final game heading into the break, but all indications are that that will happen Friday vs. Boston. Ibaka's value should relatively steady in Toronto, but his arrival is bad news for the rest-of-season outlook for guys like Jonas Valanciunas and Lucas Noguiera.

Terrence Ross was a full participant during Tuesday's practice.

This was Ross' first full practice with his new team, so there's no reason why he wouldn't make his Orlando debut Thursday vs. Portland. He's certainly going to see more opportunity in Orlando, but he's also been consistently inconsistent throughout his career, and we're not expecting that to change based on the jersey.

Updating a previous report, Mike D'Antoni confirmed that Patrick Beverley (groin) will play Thursday vs. the Pelicans.

Beverley suffered a minor groin injury that forced him out of the final game heading into the All-Star break, but he practiced in full on Tuesday and he'll be back in action on Thursday night.

James Harden (rest) missed his first practice of the season on Tuesday.

Mike D'Antoni elected to give his MVP candidate the day off, but there's absolutely no reason to believe that he'll be spending Thursday's game vs. the Pelicans on the sidelines.

Stan Van Gundy said that while Andre Drummond's name may come up in trade discussions, he hasn't had any "serious" talks with opposing teams regarding his starting center.

The Pistons would reportedly be open to parting ways with Drummond should the right deal come along, but it sounds like Van Gundy's asking price is up there, making a trade unlikely. Reggie Jackson seems like the most likely Pistons' player to be dealt should a deal be struck.

C.J. Watson (sore right Achilles) was not able to practice on Tuesday and he's expected to undergo an MRI on Wednesday.

This is concerning given that Watson had the entire All-Star break to rest up, but we'll wait for the MRI results before making any speculation on a timetable. Orlando's first game after the break comes Thursday vs. Portland, and if Watson can't give it a go, we could see Elfrid Payton back in the starting five with D.J. Augustin logging extended minutes off the bench. Stay tuned.

Mike D'Antoni said that Patrick Beverley (groin) is "fine" and he expects him to be good to go for Thursday's game against the Pelicans.

Beverley suffered the minor groin strain during Houston's final game heading into the break, but he's had plenty of time to rest up and his owners can plan on having him available on Thursday night. Check back for another update following Thursday morning's shootaround.
