After receiving the results of Friday's MRI, Maurice Jones-Drew (hamstring) promised he will play in Week 15 against the Bills.
Jones-Drew suffered the hamstring injury in Thursday night's win over the Texans. Set for free agency in 2014, MJD doesn't want to miss out on any of his final chances to impress in 2013. "It’s what we, I think, what we figured out was just a strained hamstring," Jones-Drew said. "I’ve played with those before so it’s not that big of a deal. You just have to get the necessary treatments and things done so you can get back and get on the field for Sunday." MJD will be an RB2 if he's indeed cleared to start against Buffalo.
Bears SS Major Wright (hamstring) returned to a full practice Friday.
Barring setbacks, Wright should be in the starting lineup on Monday night against Dallas after missing Week 13. Wright has been an IDP dynamo when healthy this season, averaging 6.9 tackles per game with two forced fumbles and two interceptions. 57 of Wright's 76 tackles have been of the solo variety.
49ers RCB Tarell Brown's Week 11 rib injury was originally diagnosed as a 4-6 week ordeal.
The Niners' organization has instructed Brown to not reveal the injury's full extent, but he's going to miss a third straight game in Week 14 and will likely miss Week 15, as well. The 49ers will keep starting Tramaine Brock.
Raiders SS Tyvon Branch (fibula/ankle) will not play in Week 14.
Branch isn't ready to return from the injury that has cost him all but two games this year. The Raiders will continue to start Brandian Ross at strong safety.
Seahawks RCB Brandon Browner recently turned down an offer from the NFL to reduce his suspension from one year to early next October.
Browner must be awfully sure of himself. Currently, Browner faces a suspension that would extend through December of 2014. Had he accepted the offer, Browner would've been eligible to play after the first month or so of the 2014 regular season. Also playing a role in Browner's decision is his impending free agency, which would be far less valuable when facing a suspension. Browner's ban is for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Frank Gore (ankle) is listed as probable for Week 14.
Gore will start Sunday's crucial division battle with Seattle.
Bucs WR Chris Owusu (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 14.
Owusu missed four games earlier this season with a quad issue, but was limited in practice this week with a new hamstring injury. If active, he'll be the No. 3 receiver behind Vincent Jackson and Tiquan Underwood for Sunday's matchup against the Bills.
Redskins FB Darrel Young (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 14.
Young practiced on a limited basis Friday, putting him on track to play against the Chiefs. His return would be an upgrade to Alfred Morris and Washington's running game. If Young is held out again this week, the Redskins would be forced to use Evan Royster as their starting fullback.
