David Holmberg will start for the White Sox on Monday in Boston.

Holmberg has fared well at Triple-A Charlotte (1.76 ERA) and in the majors (0.87 ERA) this season, but he's a junkballing lefty who the Red Sox will likely eat alive. His stay in the rotation figures to be short with James Shields (lat) not far off.
May 28 - 12:53 PM

Jonathan Villar is batting seventh for the Brewers on Sunday.

Villar made a start in the No. 3 spot a little over a week ago, but that was the only other time he's hit anywhere other than leadoff. The 26-year-old is currently in a 6-for-36 slide at the dish that has his season line down to .213/.285/.330. Villar has been woeful against lefties this season (.514 OPS) and the Brewers are facing southpaw Patrick Corbin, so it's possible Villar will be back in the leadoff spot Monday when they go up against righty Robert Gsellman. Keon Broxton is batting leadoff Sunday. This is obviously a situation to keep an eye on, as it could have a big fantasy impact on both players.
May 28 - 12:49 PM

Yadier Molina is not in the Cardinals' lineup Sunday.

It's a rare day off for the catcher. Eric Fryer will receive pitches from Lance Lynn.
May 28 - 12:25 PM

Eric Thames is absent from the Brewers' lineup Sunday.

Thames is in the midst of a 3-for-34 tailspin at the plate, so he'll get a day off against lefty Patrick Corbin. Jesus Aguilar is at first base. The Brewers also have Jonathan Villar down in the No. 7 spot and Keon Broxton hitting leadoff.

Cardinals purchased the contract of INF Paul DeJong from Triple-A Memphis.

DeJong, 23, was off to a .294/.331/.541 start with 11 homers at Memphis this season after slugging 22 bombs at the Double-A level last year. He doesn't have great plate discipline, but DeJong offers pop and defensive versatility. He could see some starts with Kolten Wong (elbow) sidelined and will be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.
May 28 - 12:15 PM

Cardinals placed 2B Kolten Wong on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 27, with a left elbow strain.

Wong first injured his elbow a week ago and it apparently just hasn't healed as hoped. He'll undergo an MRI on Monday in St. Louis to determine the severity of the injury. Greg Garcia and Jhonny Peralta will get more playing time with Wong out, and call-up Paul DeJong is also an option.
May 28 - 12:13 PM

Daniel Murphy (illness) remained out of the Nationals' lineup Sunday.

Murphy hasn't played since Thursday due to a stomach bug. He'll be back in there soon. Wilmer Difo is handling second base again.
May 28 - 12:09 PM

Bryce Harper is not in the Nationals' lineup Sunday.

Jayson Werth and Matt Wieters are also getting breathers, and Daniel Murphy (illness) remains out, as well. The Nats have Brian Goodwin in right field, Adam Lind in left, Jose Lobaton at catcher and Wilmer Difo at second base.
