Wil Myers cracked a solo home run and finished the day 1-for-5 in Saturday's extra-inning loss to the Giants.

He went yard off starter Matt Moore to get the Padres on the board in the fourth inning. It was his 19th longball of the year. He hit 28 of them last year and will likely end up near that number again. The well-rounded, five-category producer is slashing .252/.332/.471 with 46 RBI, 51 runs scored and 10 stolen bases.

Luis Perdomo let in four runs -- one earned -- through six innings and settled for a no-decision as his team lost to the Giants in extra innings on Saturday.

He surrendered eight base hits and two walks while striking out four in the ballgame. An error on shortstop Allen Cordoba led to three unearned runs in the fourth inning. Perdomo helped himself at the plate by driving in two runs with a triple in the fourth inning. Prior to last season Perdomo was plucked from the Cardinals' system as a Rule 5 draft pick and jumped from Single-A ball straight to the major leagues. His record holds at 4-5 with a 4.94 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in 16 starts this season. He has 73 strikeouts and 35 walks in 91 2/3 innings.

Kris Bryant ripped two hits Saturday in the Cubs’ come-from-behind win over the Cardinals.

Bryant looked good as new in his return from a sprained pinkie. The 25-year-old singled in the second inning and later tied the score at two with a base knock off Matt Bowman in the eighth. Bryant scored the game-winning run later in the frame on an RBI double by Anthony Rizzo. Despite getting off to a relatively slow start this season, Bryant’s .930 OPS is almost identical to the one he posted when he won National League MVP last year.
