Eugenio Suarez went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Thursday's loss to the Marlins.

The Reds actually banged out 10 hits, led by Suarez's three, but they were only able to push across a solitary run in the eighth. The 26-year-old has bounced back from a miserable month of June to bat .275 this month with a handful of games left to be played. In what has been an up and down year, Suarez is now hitting .261/.359/.460 with 16 homers, 51 RBI and 53 runs scored overall.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports the Dodgers are recalling Kyle Farmer from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The Dodgers have yet to announce a corresponding move. Farmer has raked in the minors this year, hitting a robust .326 with nine homers and 47 RBI over 301 at-bats between Double and Triple-A. The promotion is well-earned, though Farmer will be hard-pressed for consistent playing time behind Yasmani Grandal and Austin Barnes.

A.J. Ramos was asked to earn a four-out save Thursday, working out of trouble to close out a win over the Reds.

After Chris O'Grady held the Reds scoreless over seven innings, the tying run was suddenly at the plate with two outs in the eighth after Junichi Tazawa allowed three singles in relief. Ramos promptly gave up a single of his own to load the bases and bring the winning run to the dish, but he coaxed a weak ground out from Tucker Barnhart to preserve the lead. A hit and a walk once again brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth, but again, Ramos elicited a pop out to end the threat and the game. The right-hander now has 20 saves despite some high-wire acts, and he owns a 3.63 ERA and 1.31 in 39 2/3 innings of work. He's very much a candidate to be dealt before Monday's trade deadline.

Kyle Schwarber had a monster night in Thursday's 6-3 win over the White Sox, going 3-for-4 with a triple, two home runs and four RBI.

Schwarber gave the Cubs a 3-1 lead with his two-run home run off Mike Pelfrey in the fourth inning. That was just the start of his big night. He would next come through with an RBI triple in the sixth inning before capping his evening's work off with a solo homer in the eighth. Schwarber was hitting just .168 on July 6, but that batting average has crept its way up to .191 with Thursday's three-hit showing. He also has 17 homers and has driven in 36 runs.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports the Nationals have scouted Trevor Rosenthal.

They've also been scouting outfielder Tommy Pham. Rosenthal has had his ups and downs, but he's pitched much better of late (1.93 ERA in July) and boasts an impressive 13.85 K/9 over 39 innings this year. He's be a solid add for a Washington bullpen that remains a work in progress. The 27-year-old is under contract through 2018.

Anthony Rizzo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's win over the White Sox.

Rizzo crushed a solo homer off Mike Pelfrey in the fourth inning, his 24th long ball of the season. It was his first home run since July 16. Despite the little lull with the home run ball, Rizzo has been locked in of late, having picked up hits in five of his last eight at-bats. He is slashing .261/.386/.516 with the aforementioned 24 homers, plus 67 RBI, for the season as a whole.

Jose Abreu went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in Thursday's loss to the Cubs.

Abreu took a Jon Lester offering for a long solo ride to left in the fourth inning, launching it an estimated 448 feet. He also socked a solo homer in the ninth that drew the White Sox to within 6-3, but there would no further late dramatics from his club. Prior to his big evening on Thursday, Abreu had not homered since July 4. For the season as a whole, the slugger is working to a .297/.352/.521 triple-slash with 18 homers and 63 RBI across 98 games played.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports the Rangers have informed teams that they're looking to move Yu Darvish before Monday's trade deadline.

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reported earlier tonight that the Rangers were still deciding whether or not to deal Darvish. Apparently that decision has now been made and the Rangers are actively shopping the ace right-hander. With Clayton Kershaw (back) facing a lengthy absence, the Dodgers are sure to add an arm at the deadline and Darvish may very well be their preferred target. The Cubs, who recently took over first in the NL Central, have also checked in on Darvish. We could be looking at an all-out fire sale in Texas with relievers Jeremy Jeffress and Keone Kela also drawing trade interest.
