Eagles WRs coach Bob Bicknell reportedly isn't interested in the 49ers' offensive-coordinator job.

Yikes. The 49ers are having a tough time luring someone in to call plays for Colin Kaepernick and Co. Alabama OC Lane Kiffin chose to remain in Tuscaloosa, Colts special assistant Rob Chudzinski accepted a promotion in Indianapolis, and ex-OC Greg Roman joined Rex Ryan in Buffalo. It's unclear where the 49ers will go from here. QBs coach Geep Chryst is a candidate for a promotion.

New Bills OC Greg Roman said he'll give E.J. Manuel "a very clean slate" as they head into the offseason.

"I definitely think he's done some very good things and displayed some good traits. I'd say we just have to get his level of consistency a little bit greater," Roman said. "What [he] might've been asked to do or done in the past is really not relevant to what we may or may not ask him to do." Those are the most glowing words we've heard on Manuel from the Bills since the season ended. Manuel isn't going to be handed anything. Top beat writer Joe Buscaglia expects the Bills to address quarterback in free agency and the draft.

The Sacramento Bee calls 49ers WR Stevie Johnson a "presumed starter" for 2015.

Michael Crabtree is a free agent and seems unlikely to re-sign with the 49ers. Brandon Lloyd is also headed for free agency, leaving Anquan Boldin and Johnson atop the depth chart. Johnson played just 305 snaps this past season, catching 35 balls for 435 yards and three touchdowns as the No. 3 receiver. Johnson is a crisp route runner with good hands, but the 49ers desperately need a field stretcher out wide. Johnson and Boldin are carbon-copy clones as possession receivers.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel doesn't envision the Packers even making an offer to restricted free agent WR Jarrett Boykin.

Boykin entered the season as the Packers' clear No. 3 receiver, but got hurt and was passed by rookie Davante Adams and left in the dust. He played just 122 offensive snaps after Week 3. Even if the Packers can't re-sign free agent Randall Cobb, Boykin appears on his way out. He's a slow possession receiver.

The Dallas Morning News names WLB Sean Lee's contract one of the three worst on the team.

It's hard to disagree. Lee inked a seven-year, $42 million deal in August 2013 and has appeared in just 11-of-32 regular-season games because of various injuries in 2013 and a torn ACL in 2014. When on the field, Lee was worth the money. But he's no longer expected to man the middle for the Cowboys, and will instead shift to the weak side in DC Rod Marinelli's scheme. The Cowboys will hope to bring back impending free agent MLB Rolando McClain. Cutting Lee isn't an option, as the Cowboys would take on a $9 million-plus dead money hit.

The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jimmy Kempski mentions OLB Jason Worilds as a free agent the Eagles could target.

Interestingly, ESPN's Adam Caplan tweeted back in August that Worilds "would have signed with the Eagles" had he not been slapped with the transition tag by the Steelers last offseason. It indicates there was mutual interest from both sides. The Eagles will be on the hunt for a starting outside linebacker with Brandon Graham heading for free agency and Trent Cole a lock to be cut.

Former DT Aubrayo Franklin has joined the 49ers' coaching staff as an entry-level assistant.

Franklin, 34, last played in the NFL for the Colts in 2013, starting 15 games as the run-plugging nose tackle. He had his best days as a 49er from 2007-2010, and was even San Francisco's "franchise" player in 2010. New 49ers coach Jim Tomsula was Franklin's position coach in San Francisco.

NFL Network's Albert Breer reports the 49ers have "discussed" Eagles WRs coach Bob Bicknell as a candidate for their offensive-coordinator vacancy.

Bicknell, 45, has been the Eagles' WRs coach the past two seasons. Before that, he was a position coach for the Chiefs and Bills from 2007-2012, coaching offensive line, tight ends, and receivers. Like 49ers coach Jim Tomsula, Bicknell spent a good amount of time coaching in NFL Europe in the late-1990s and early-2000s. He was the OC for the Berlin Thunder and Cologne Centurions.
