Blake Treinen exited an appearance Tuesday against the Rangers after taking a line drive off his lower right leg.

Treinen entered the game with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning, presumably to try for a five-out save. The first batter he faced, Shin-Soo Choo, hit a rocket right back to him for an infield single. There should be an update soon from the Athletics.

Curtis Granderson went 3-for-5 and delivered a walkoff homer off Craig Kimbrel as the Blue Jays edged the Red Sox 4-3 in 10 innings on Tuesday.

Granderson drove in three of the Jays' four runs on the night. In nine starts in the leadoff spot this year, he's been good for three homers, 10 runs scored and 10 RBI. For some reason, Jays manager John Gibbons didn't want to use him there this year, but he was left with little choice after Devon Travis struggled both in the spring and in the early part of the season.
Apr 24 - 10:30 PM

J.A. Happ fanned 10 while limiting the Red Sox to one run in seven innings on Tuesday.

Both Happ and opposing starter Rick Porcello benefitted from Dan Iassogna's very favorable strike zone, and both established new seasons highs for strikeouts (Porcello had nine). Happ also went without a walk for the first time this year. He would have done just fine even without the extra assistance, though. He's 3-1 with a 3.72 ERA after the no-decision in this one.
Apr 24 - 10:26 PM

Roberto Osuna took his first blown save after giving up two runs in the ninth Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Osuna gave up four hits and a walk in the inning and only escaped when Eduardo Nunez was thrown out at home on a longshot attempt at scoring the go-ahead run with two outs. The runs were the first he's allowed in 10 1/3 innings this year.
Apr 24 - 10:23 PM

Rick Porcello yielded three runs in seven innings and struck out nine Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

It could have been seven scoreless innings if Porcello hadn't been let down by his defense in a three-run second. Since the Red Sox came back in the ninth tonight, Porcello avoided taking his first loss of the year. He still hasn't allowed a homer in 32 2/3 innings.
Apr 24 - 10:21 PM

X-rays turned up negative on Ian Kennedy's right foot.

Kennedy left his start Tuesday night against the Brewers after getting struck in the foot by a Ryan Braun line drive in the top of the third inning, but he escaped with a bruise and should be fine to make his next start. The 33-year-old right-hander yielded four runs over three frames Tuesday before exiting. He has a 3.46 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and 22/8 K/BB ratio in 26 innings this season.
Apr 24 - 10:20 PM

Hanley Ramirez went 3-for-5 in a losing cause Tuesday versus the Blue Jays.

He also drove in a run for the first time in 10 days. Ramirez has nine multihit games fueling his .333 average in 75 at-bats.
Apr 24 - 10:19 PM

Brock Holt went 3-for-4 with a double Tuesday against the Blue Jays to raise his average to .289.

He had a game-tying hit off Roberto Osuna with two outs in the ninth. Holt is 13-for-35 in his last nine games after opening the season 0-for-10. However, he's still due to return to the bench this weekend with Xander Bogaerts set to rejoin Boston's lineup.
