Eagles signed G/T Dallas Thomas to a reserve/future contract.

Jan 18 - 3:29 PM

Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski considers Ryan Mathews a candidate to be released or asked to take a pay cut.

Mathews is entering the final year of his contract, and his $4 million base salary is currently ninth-highest among all running backs. In no way is Mathews a top-10 back in this league, and he's coming off a serious neck injury suffered in Week 16. Cutting Mathews would clear $4 million in cap space.

Davante Adams (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

"I'm curious to see him move," coach Mike McCarthy said. "I don't think he'll practice until Saturday." Adams hurt his ankle late in the Divisional Round win over the Cowboys and had to be helped to the sideline before returning. With Jordy Nelson (ribs) also sidelined, losing Adams would be a huge blow to Green Bay. If both sit, Randall Cobb, Geronimo Allison, Jeff Janis, Jared Cook, and Richard Rodgers would make up Aaron Rodgers' pass-game arsenal.

Jordy Nelson (ribs) continued to work with the rehab group at Wednesday's practice.

Nelson has been labeled as a "bit of a long shot" to play in Sunday's NFC Championship game against the Falcons. Nelson worked with the rehab group last week before sitting out against the Cowboys. Jared Cook had a big day in Nelson's absence. Consider Nelson doubtful to play at this point.

Malcolm Mitchell (knee) is practicing on Wednesday.

Mitchell practiced on a limited basis last week before being inactive against the Texans. There's a chance Mitchell could play over Michael Floyd this week. There's just as good a chance Mitchell won't play at all, of course.

Chris Hogan (thigh) is practicing on Wednesday.

Hogan departed the Divisional Round win over the Texans early but said earlier this week that he is "feeling good" heading into championship week.

Julio Jones (toe) is not practicing Wednesday.

As expected. Jones did go through the walkthrough portion on Wednesday, but the Falcons aren't going to push him to practice after he aggravated his sprained toe against Seattle. Jones will play against the Packers on Sunday.

Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reports ex-Bills OL coach Aaron Kromer is "getting stronger" as a candidate for the Rams' offensive coordinator job.

New coach Sean McVay wants his OC to have a strong offensive line background to help rebuild one of the league's worst blocking units. McVay will call the plays. Kromer served as the Bears' OC from 2013-14 under Marc Trestman.
