Leonys Martin broke up a scoreless tie with an RBI single in the ninth inning on Thursday, leading the Rangers to a 2-0 victory over the Orioles.

Martin finished the night 1-for-3 and also drew a walk. He has been a major disappointment for the Rangers and fantasy owners alike this season, slashing a mere .225/.268/.328 with five homers, 24 RBI and 13 stolen bases.

Yovani Gallardo extended his scoreless innings streak to 29 1/3 with another six shutout frames against the Orioles in a no-decision on Thursday.

The right-hander was once again superb, scattering just two hits and three walks on the evening while striking out two. He now boasts a tremendous 2.56 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 72/31 K/BB ratio over 102 innings on the season. He'll look to extend his dominance further when he does battle against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

David Lough was the lone bright spot on offense for the Orioles on Thursday, going 2-for-3 in a losing effort against the Rangers.

The Orioles were shut out by Yovani Gallardo and company on Thursday, with Lough tallying two of the team's three total hits. He has struggled for the most part in limited time with the O's, slashing just .216/.262/.351 on the season.

Kevin Gausman dazzled in a spot start against the Rangers on Thursday, racking up seven strikeouts over 6 1/3 scoreless innings.

Gausman surrendered just four hits and two walks in the impressive outing. While he's supposed to be heading back to Triple-A Norfolk, it's hard to envision the Orioles keeping the struggling Bud Norris in the rotation much longer with Gausman ready to take over. His fantasy value the remainder of the season entirely hinges on him securing a spot in the starting rotation.

Cameron Maybin delivered a walk-off RBI single in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Nationals.

The game-winning rally was set up after pinch-hitter Pedro Ciriaco reached on an infield single and was moved over to second base on a sacrifice bunt from Jace Peterson. Maybin then hit a chopper just inside the third base line to plate Ciriaco for the win. The 28-year-old has had a huge first half with Atlanta, putting up a .281/.354/.388 batting line to go along with six home runs, 37 RBI, and 14 steals over 70 games.
Jul 2 - 10:12 PM

Max Scherzer gave up two runs over 8 1/3 innings in a complete-game loss against the Braves on Thursday.

The game was tied 1-1 until Scherzer gave up a walk-off single to Cameron Maybin in the bottom of the ninth. While he took the loss, it was still a heck of an outing. Scherzer allowed a total of five hits and no walks while striking out nine batters. He now has a 42/1 K/BB ratio over his last four starts and has gone the distance in three of them. Quite a run for someone who had one complete game over his first 210 starts in the majors.

Denard Span singled and stole two bases Thursday against the Braves.

Span went 1-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch. He's now a perfect 11-for-11 in stolen base attempts this season. The 31-year-old got a late start on the season after core muscle surgery and has battled various bumps and bruises since, but he still has a very strong .310/.373/.441 batting line over 56 games.
Jul 2 - 10:11 PM

Wilson Ramos went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in Thursday's loss to the Braves.

His run-scoring single tied the game at 1-1 in the seventh, but the Braves went on to win in the ninth inning. Ramos has managed to stay healthy this season while batting .258 with seven home runs and 35 RBI over 61 games, which is good enough for him to be relevant in mixed leagues. The lack of power has been a disappointment, but given how many ground balls he hits, perhaps it shouldn't come as a big surprise.
