Athletics reassigned INF Andy Parino, C Luke Carlin and 1B Max Muncy to minor league camp.

The 29-year-old Parrino hit just .196 (9-for-46) with 11 strikeouts in Cactus League play. He'll continue to function as organizational infield depth for the A's. Carlin is expected to return to big league camp on Tuesday where he'll catch for Barry Zito.

Bruce Rondon (neck) is scheduled to return to Grapefruit League action on Monday.

That all depends on how the big right-hander is feeling on Monday however. Rondon woke up with a crick in his neck on Saturday which caused him to take a couple of days off. He should have no problems getting himself ready in time for the start of the regular season.

Chris Perez was removed from Sunday's Cactus League game with a minor right ankle sprain.

The veteran right-hander recorded just one out before he succumbed to the injury. The Brewers are expected to make a decision early in the week whether or not Perez will win a spot in the team's Opening Day bullpen.

Red Sox manager John Farrell confirmed Sunday that Edward Mujica would begin the season as his team's closer with Koji Uehara sidelined.

Uehara is battling a hamstring injury and isn't likely to be ready for Opening Day. While Mujica had a disappointing season with the Red Sox in 2014, he excelled while filling in for Uehara down the stretch, posting a 2.12 ERA and 14/5 K/BB ratio while making good on all six of his save chances over his final 17 appearances. As long as he has the job to begin the season, he's worthy of starting in all mixed leagues.

Jason Marquis notched a quality start on Sunday, yielding three runs in six innings as the Reds won 8-6 over the Angels.

Marquis, who hasn't pitched in the majors since 2013, has already locked up a spot in the Reds' starting rotation. He's had a decent spring showing, posting a 3.46 ERA with a 14/10 K/BB ratio in 26 innings. The 36-year-old holds very little fantasy value.
Mar 29 - 6:33 PM

Orioles reassigned INF Chris Parmelee, OF Dariel Alvarez and RHP Chaz Roe to minor league camp.

With this round of cuts the Orioles have 37 players remaining in big league camp. The 27-year-old Parmelee could have secured a spot on the Opening Day roster with a strong spring, but hit just .160 (4-for-25) with one RBI and eight strikeouts in Grapefruit League competition. He should get a chance with the big league club at some point during the upcoming season.
Mar 29 - 6:31 PM

Andrew Heaney struggled in Sunday's start against the Reds, surrendering six runs in five innings of work.

Four of the runs scored in the third inning, including three on a Chris Dominguez home run. Heaney, who will start the season at Triple-A Salt Lake, gave up eight hits and a walk while striking out five. In Cactus League action, he has a 9.00 ERA in 19 innings this spring along with a 16/7 K/BB ratio.
Mar 29 - 6:30 PM

Brennan Boesch continued to swing a hot bat on Sunday against the Angels, finishing 2-for-5 with an RBI double.

Boesch has hit in four consecutive spring games, three of which included multiple hits. He's hitting .385 (20-for-52) with three doubles, four home runs, and 14 RBI. The Reds are almost certain to include him as a bench player on the 25-man roster when spring training ends.
