Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reports that moving Ivan Nova has become "the next priority" for the Yankees following the Aroldis Chapman deal.

ESPN's Buster Olney reported earlier in the day Monday that team executives have been pushing for a trade involving Nova, so things could come together quickly now that the Chapman deal is finalized. "They're focused on him," a major-league source told Feinsand. "They're looking at the guys with expiring contracts first - though not Beltran right now." Nova, an impending free agent, has posted a 4.65 ERA and 72/22 K/BB ratio over 93 innings this season. In a weak market for starters, he could draw some interest as rotation depth.

Matt Duffy (Achilles) could begin a minor league rehab assignment this weekend.

Duffy has been out for over a month with a left Achilles strain, but he ran curves Monday and is said to be "over the hump" with his injury. Barring a setback, a return in the early part of August appears within reach.

Joe Panik (concussion) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Sacramento.

Panik had to briefly halt his minor league rehab assignment last week, but he's back on track now and could join the Giants by the end of the week if all goes well. The 25-year-old has been out since June 27 due to concussion symptoms.

Nick Tropeano saw Dr. David Altchek in New York on Monday for a second opinion on his right elbow.

Tropeano was diagnosed with an ulnar collateral ligament tear in his elbow last week. No official decision has been made yet, but season-ending Tommy John surgery could be imminent.

Monday's game between the Cardinals and Mets was postponed due to rain.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Tuesday, beginning at 4:10 p.m. ET. Monday's starters, Noah Syndergaard and Carlos Martinez are expected to be pushed back to Game 1 on Tuesday. Jaime Garcia and Bartolo Colon will pitch the nightcap.

Brian McCann is not in the starting lineup Monday against the Astros.

McCann joins Alex Rodriguez and Brett Gardner on the bench against southpaw Dallas Keuchel. Austin Romine will start behind the plate and catch Michael Pineda.
Jul 25 - 6:54 PM

Brandon Belt was moved down to sixth in the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds.

Belt has been the primary No. 3 hitter dating back to mid-June, but he's batting just .185 with zero homers and a .589 OPS this month. Jarrett Parker will get an opportunity to hit third Monday against Anthony DeSclafani.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that the Marlins have inquired on Angels' starters, including left-hander Hector Santiago.

The Marlins have also presumably asked about Matt Shoemaker, who has been on a heck of a roll over the past two months. ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reported earlier Monday that the Angels are listening to offers on Santiago, who is under team control for one more season. The southpaw has a 4.32 ERA and 96/47 K/BB ratio over 110 1/3 innings this season. The Marlins are known to be in the market for starting pitching, especially with Wei-Yin Chen (elbow) going down.
