Lions WR T.J. Jones (shoulder) will come off PUP shortly.

Oct 23 - 9:35 AM

Kyle Rudolph (sports hernia) participated in the team stretch Wednesday for the first time since his late-September surgery.

After stretching, Rudolph did some running on the side with trainers. It's not much, but it is a bit of progress for a player that was hit with a 6-8 week timetable following his surgery. Owners in need of tight end help should start thinking about a stash soon as Rudolph could realistically be back immediately after the Week 10 bye. The red-zone dominator was lining up in the slot a ton before going down.

Ryan Fitzpatrick admitted he "didn't get it to Andre [Johnson] nearly enough early" in Monday's loss to the Steelers.

Johnson finished with 5-77-0 on nine targets, but had just one catch for four yards through the first three quarters. After the game, coach Bill O'Brien said that Johnson was open throughout. It sounds like we have a bit of a squeaky wheel getting greased situation heading into this week's game against the Titans.

Jaguars CB Alan Ball (bicep) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

Ball missed practice Wednesday to get a second opinion on the injury, never a good sign. The Jags may have to turn to another mediocre corner in Dwayne Gratz opposite Demetrius McCray.

Toby Gerhart (foot) "appears" ready to return for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

Gerhart is practicing on a limited basis this week and said he feels "pretty good" after taking the last two weeks off. However, his role is more uncertain than ever after Denard Robinson put a 22-127-1 line on the Browns last week. "I think we'll continue to mix and match a little bit," said OC Jedd Fisch. "I don't know exactly how that will all play out yet." We'd expect Robinson to start, but he's going to find the sledding very tough against an excellent Dolphins front. Gerhart will be a complementary early-down piece and Jordan Todman will handle a lot of third downs. It's not a terribly high-upside situation.

Chargers CB Brandon Flowers (concussion) will not play in Thursday's game against the Broncos.

Fellow CB Jason Verrett (shoulder) is questionable, obviously an awful time for San Diego to be banged up in the secondary. Richard Marshall and Shareece Wright are potential starters as Peyton Manning licks his chops. The Chargers will also be without ILB Manti Te'o (foot), OLB Jeremiah Attaochu (hamstring), RB Donald Brown (concussion) and RB Ryan Mathews (knee).
Oct 23 - 8:47 AM

Steelers CB Ike Taylor (arm) returned to individual drills Wednesday.

Taylor broke his right forearm on Sept. 21 and was given a six-week timetable after titanium plates were surgically inserted. Even though the 34-year-old has been getting dominated by opposing wideouts for a few years now, the Steelers will gladly welcome him back. Cortez Allen has graded out dead last among 106 qualifiers in Pro Football Focus' ranks.

Darrelle Revis is not expected to be disciplined for being late to Tuesday's practice.

Revis reportedly overslept through a 7:30am meeting and then was told to go home once he arrived at the Patriots facility. We've seen the Patriots not start players in the following game when things like this happen (Wes Welker), but it doesn't look that's going to happen in this case. Revis apologized to coach Bill Belichick and he's desperately needed against Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery Sunday.
