Billy Hamilton (shoulder, wrist) is not in the Reds' lineup Sunday.

Hamilton banged his shoulder and wrist on a slide into second base Saturday. He stayed in that game and is expected to be fine, but the Reds felt it would be best to give him some rest Sunday. Brennan Boesch is handling center field.

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said Saturday that Andrew Lambo (foot) is "still not showing the signs of improvement and progress to get him into any type of game."

Lambo has been sidelined for the last three weeks with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. It's an ailment that can linger and it doesn't sound like the Pirates are expecting him back anytime soon.

Athletics manager Bob Melvin said that Brett Lawrie is "a little banged up" and he plans to rest the third baseman for a second straight day Sunday.

The skipper wouldn't reveal exactly what Lawrie is dealing with, but whatever it is appears to be minor. He should be back in there on Monday.

Jose Iglesias (knee) is not in the Tigers' lineup Sunday.

Iglesias banged knees with the Astros' Chris Carter on Saturday, forcing him from the game. He only has a bruise but is likely still pretty sore. Andrew Romine is at shortstop in his place.

Rafael Montero has not made significant progress in his recovery from right rotator cuff inflammation.

"The last time I talked to the people in Florida about Rafi, he hadn’t even started playing catch. That was a week ago," Mets manager Terry Collins said. "I haven’t heard his name brought up any time I have called down there, so I am assuming he is not doing anything more, if he is doing anything, than playing catch." Obviously, it doesn't sound like Montero will be an option for the Mets anytime soon. He's been sidelined since late April.

Twins assistant general manager Rob Antony indicated Saturday that Oswaldo Arcia's (hip) rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester might not be brief.

Arcia, who has missed 17 games with a right hip flexor strain, will begin the assignment with Rochester on Sunday. "He needs to go down and show he’s ready to come up and help the club," Antony said. "We’ve gotten away from go down, get a couple of at-bats and come back up. All of a sudden the guy is 0-for-12 and not helping the team. A, we need to know that he’s healthy, and B, he needs to look like he’s ready to help us." Arcia was starting to show signs of turning it around at the plate before the injury. Ultimately, he should be back with the Twins pretty soon.

Devin Mesoraco is expected to decide whether to undergo season-ending surgery on his left hip when the Reds return home from their road trip Monday.

Mesoraco experienced continued pain while attempting to squat on Friday and hasn't even been available to serve as a designated hitter the last two days. Being able to catch again this season looks like a long shot, so he could decide soon to go ahead and have the procedure. "I'm sure we'll have some type of meeting," he said. "I don't know what we're going to do. I don't expect to be catching in the near future. We'll talk when we get back to Cincinnati."

Bud Norris (illness) will make another rehab start with Double-A Bowie on Wednesday.

He had been scheduled for just one rehab outing, but plans changed after Norris was drilled for nine runs on 12 hits over 2 2/3 innings for Triple-A Norfolk on Friday. As well as Mike Wright has pitched, Norris might not have a rotation spot waiting for him when he returns.
