Ex-NFL WR Keenan McCardell is interviewing for the position of Jaguars' WRs coach.

He played six years in Jacksonville under head coach Tom Coughlin, who was recently hired as the team's Executive VP of Football Operations. McCardell was out of coaching last year but previously spent two years as the Redskins' WRs coach and another two in the same position at the University of Maryland. If he gets the job, McCardell will be tasked with reviving Allen Robinson, who regressed last year following a breakout 2015 campaign.

Lions OC Jim Bob Cooter said Dwayne Washington is "still learning how to play NFL football."

It comes on the heels of an underwhelming rookie year for the seventh-round pick. "I think he would maybe like some of his runs back," said Cooter. "He’s really trying hard, he’s really working hard and we’re excited to have him." Washington saw more playing than expected with Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick on the shelf, but was fazed out down the stretch as the Lions handed the lead role to Zach Zenner. Washington isn't a lock to keep his roster spot this summer.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Browns have reached a "stalemate" in extension talks with restricted free agent Isaiah Crowell.

RapSheet contends the sides were in "heavy talks" at one point. It doesn't make much sense for the Browns to commit long term to Crowell when they can retain him with a cheap restricted free agent tender. Crowell is a solid runner who averaged 4.8 yards per carry this past season, but his monetary value is minimal as a two-down grinder who already has over 500 NFL carries under his belt.

Free agent Johnny Manziel says he achieved sobriety without professional assistance.

This will increase skepticism regarding Manziel's comeback attempt, which he announced this week after admitting he was "lost in the sauce" during his 2016 drug and alcohol binge. Manziel is only 24 days older than Carson Wentz.

Redskins OLB Ryan Kerrigan underwent elbow surgery after the season.

The procedure cleaned up "loose bodies" in Kerrigan's left elbow, which he sprained in Week 4 and aggravated later on. As fellow OLB Preston Smith turned in a somewhat disappointing sophomore campaign, Kerrigan was the Redskins' only threatening pass rusher in 2016 while playing through the injury. Kerrigan finished with 11 sacks and has at least 7.5 sacks in all six of his NFL seasons.

Julio Jones (toe) returned to a full practice on Friday.

Coach Dan Quinn said he looked good and won't have any limitations in Sunday's NFC Championship Game versus Green Bay. That's good to hear after Jones played just 58.3 percent of the team's offensive snaps in last week's win over Seattle. Jones had a tough time when he faced the Packers in Week 8, securing just 3-of-5 targets for 29 yards in the Falcons' one-point victory. Packers DC Dom Capers sold out to stop Jones, a tactic Capers may be uncomfortable repeating with the emergence of so many other weapons in Atlanta's offense.

Ladarius Green (concussion, illness) returned to practice on Friday.

Green didn't work with the first team and remains in the league's concussion protocol. He'll make the trip to Foxboro, but it's anyone's guess if he'll be out there against the Patriots. Green hasn't seen the field since Week 15. Jesse James would draw another start at tight end if Green misses Sunday's AFC title game. No one covering the Steelers expects Green to play.

Packers director of player personnel Brian Gutekunst has withdrawn his name from the 49ers' general manager search.

Just like Packers colleague Eliot Wolf, Gutekunst signed a new deal to remain in Green Bay. The 49ers' GM search might be down to George Paton and Terry McDonough. Kyle Shanahan is expected to command final say and 49ers CEO Jed York isn't well liked, explaining San Francisco's struggle to attract GM takers.
