Barry Zito - S - Giants

Barry Zito allowed five runs on 11 hits over 5 2/3 innings in his start Sunday against the Rockies.

It was another bad outing from Zito, and he's now failed to win a game in his last five starts. He needed 108 pitches to get through the five-plus innings and continues to struggle on the road this season, where he has an 11.25 ERA. Zito will get a rematch with the Rockies in his next start on Saturday.

Juan Nicasio - S - Rockies

Juan Nicasio threw six scoreless innings Sunday in a win over the Giants.

Nicasio was knocked around for five runs in his previous outing, so it was a solid bounce back effort. He allowed just three hits, one walk, and had five strikeouts. Nicasio was a candidate to be sent down earlier this month, but his rotation spot is safe for now. Roy Oswalt is expected to make 4-5 starts with Double-A Tulsa before the Rockies need to decide whether or not to call him up.

Dexter Fowler - OF - Rockies

Dexter Fowler went 4-for-5 with two runs in Sunday's win over the Giants.

Fowler has multi-hit games in each of his last three starts and is finally heating up after a sluggish start to the month. He's batting .286/.375/.494 and ranks 10th in the National League with eight home runs this season.

Andrew Cashner - S - Padres

Andrew Cashner held the Nationals to three runs on seven hits over six-plus innings Sunday for his third win of the season.

He gave up just one walk and had six strikeouts. His lone mistake came on a two-run home run to Ryan Zimmerman in the fourth inning. Since converting to a starter, Cashner's fastball has averaged 94.8 mph, where he ranks second only to Stephen Strasburg. He's surrendered just four runs over his last 21 innings and remains a must-own in standard mixed fantasy leagues.

Dan Haren - S - Nationals

Dan Haren was pulled in the fifth inning after giving up seven runs Sunday in a loss to the Padres.

Haren suffered an ankle injury during his last start and may not be completely healthy. He allowed three runs in the first inning and gave up a pair of home runs to Will Venable and Kyle Blanks. Haren is in position to bounce back with a matchup against the Phillies next week.

Nathan Karns - S - Nationals

Nate Karns allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings and had six strikeouts in his start Friday at Double-A Harrisburg.

Karns didn't make it out of the first inning in his previous outing, so it was a much needed return to form. If Ross Detwiler is placed on the disabled list, Karns could become an option for the Nationals. He has a 4.38 ERA and 46 strikeouts over 39 innings (eight starts) at the Double-A level.

Luis Mendoza - S - Royals

Luis Mendoza allowed just two runs on eight hits over six innings in his start Sunday against the Athletics.

Mendoza earned his first win earlier this week, and has put together three straight quality starts. He would have been in line for his second win, but the Royals' bullpen allowed a home run to Yoenis Cespedes in the eighth inning that cost him the game. Mendoza has a 5.50 ERA in seven appearances (six starts) this season and will continue to serve as Kansas City's No. 5 starter.

Ryan Cook - R - Athletics

Ryan Cook earned his first save of the season on Sunday against the Royals.

With both Grant Balfour and Sean Doolittle unavailable, Cook came out to close the ninth inning. Balfour has converted his last 26 saves, so he isn't in danger of losing his job.
