Teddy Bridgewater suffered a potentially serious non-contact left knee injury in Tuesday's practice.

Bridgewater went down in a heap, and his teammates immediately called for the trainer. According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, players were cursing and throwing their helmets. They gathered around Bridgewater in prayer. The scene was described as "complete shock." The Vikings canceled practice. Obviously, it has the looks of a potentially season-ending injury, which would be a devastating blow even considering Bridgewater's game-managing ways. Journeyman veteran Shaun Hill is the next man up on the depth chart.

The MMQB's Albert Breer reports the Patriots are "shopping" Aaron Dobson.

They're shopping him because he'll be cut if/when they can't find a trade partner. Dobson has played over 100 snaps this summer, but has a modest six catches for 96 yards to show for it. Always hurt and mistake-prone, Dobson probably won't fetch a conditional day-three pick.

Giants waived S Cooper Taylor.

S Bennett Jackson has also been waived. Jackson missed all of 2015 with a torn ACL. Taylor whiffed on a starting job last season before getting on the field for only 84 snaps. He's still only 26, but it's a bad sign he couldn't even survive until final cuts.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Cowboys "have received calls" from teams wanting to acquire Darren McFadden, but Dallas "really wants to keep him."

Dealing with a severe elbow injury, McFadden is expected to begin the season on the Cowboys' reserve/NFI list should he stay put in Dallas. If not, he could be available earlier if cleared by another team's doctors. Alfred Morris has played well enough this preseason to open 2016 as Ezekiel Elliott's clear backup. McFadden is owed $1.75 million in the last year of his deal.

Rams waived WR Marquez North, K Taylor Bertolet, TE Benson Browne, DB Mike Caputo, DT Zach Colvin, OL Brian Folkerts, LB Darreon Herring, FB Zach Laskey, S Jordan Lomax, LS Jeff Overbaugh, WR David Richards, TE Jake Stoneburner, OL Jordan Swindle and QB Dylan Thompson.

North was a "name" free agent, but spent training camp banged up. Getting waived now means he probably won't be stashed on the practice squad.

Chiefs ILB Josh Mauga is out for the season with a torn labrum in his shoulder.

It's a big blow to Kansas City's defense, which will also be minus OLB Justin Houston (knee) for the first six games. Mauga isn't a difference maker inside, but he is coming off a solid season as a 14-game starter. Next to Derrick Johnson, Ramik Wilson is listed behind Mauga on the depth chart at inside linebacker.

Chiefs placed OLB Justin Houston (knee) on the reserve/PUP list.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Chiefs are "hopeful" of a mid-season return. Houston will be first eligible to suit up in Week 8, as the Chiefs are on bye in Week 5. It's a major blow, but far from unexpected. Houston was given a 6-12 month timetable after having his (apparently non-torn) ACL repaired in February. It's still not a certainty he suits up this season.

Giants signed OT Will Beatty to a one-year, $1.1 million contract.

Beatty made the free agent rounds, but couldn't find a new home. He'll likely begin the year as the Giants' swing tackle, but could put immediate pressure on RT Marshall Newhouse. If the G-Men grow uncomfortable with Ereck Flowers on the blindside, Flowers could be shifted to the right with Newhouse headed to the bench.
