According to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, closer Francisco Rodriguez has not passed his pre-signing physical with the Brewers.

K-Rod can't take the physical until he gets to the Brewers' spring training complex in Arizona and he is still waiting for a visa in his native Venezuela. The 33-year-old right-hander agreed to a two-year, $13 million contract with Milwaukee on February 26. The deal also includes an option for the 2017 season. He again holds big-time fantasy value as the ninth-inning stopper on a decent Brewers team.
Mar 5 - 2:21 PM

Adam Wainwright (abdomen) expects to throw live batting practice Sunday in Cardinals camp.

Wainwright made it through a high-intensity bullpen session on Thursday with no issues at all. He suffered an abdominal strain at the end of February while placing a 45 lb. weight back on a rack at the Cardinals' spring training complex, but the veteran right-hander has plenty of time to catch back up with the other St. Louis starters. Waino figures to get the nod on Opening Night at Wrigley Field.
Mar 5 - 12:53 PM

According to Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun, right-hander Suk-min Yoon is trying to work out a settlement with the Orioles that will get him out of his major league contract and allow him to play in Korea.

Yoon signed a three-year, $5.75 million deal with the O's last February after nine seasons in the Korea Baseball Organization. The 28-year-old starter posted an ugly 5.74 ERA and 1.58 WHIP in 95 2/3 innings last summer at the Triple-A level. He never made it to the majors, though he's young enough to give it another shot later in his career.
Mar 5 - 12:46 PM

Garrett Richards (knee) is expected to throw to hitters in his next mound session.

It's a big step for the 26-year-old right-hander, who hasn't thrown a pitch with a batter in the box since tearing his left patellar tendon last August at Fenway Park. Richards is expected to join the Angels' starting rotation by the third week of April and carries big expectations into 2015 after posting a 2.61 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 164/51 K/BB ratio in 168 2/3 innings last season.
Mar 5 - 12:30 PM

Yoenis Cespedes was scratched from the Tigers' Grapefruit League game Wednesday afternoon against the Braves due to tightness in his lower back.

Steven Moya got the nod instead. A missed game in early March is nothing to worry about with Cespedes, who slugged a grand slam against the Orioles on Tuesday. He'll be in left field for the Tigers on Opening Day.
Mar 5 - 12:14 PM

Jason Kipnis (finger) is scheduled to make his 2015 Cactus League debut on Saturday.

Kipnis needed surgery in December to repair tendon damage in his left ring finger, but he is expected to be 100 percent by the beginning of the regular season. The 27-year-old second baseman was a disappointment in 2014, but that just makes him a better value in drafts for the 2015 campaign. There's huge fantasy upside here.
Mar 5 - 11:49 AM

Hyun-Jin Ryu (back) will throw batting practice Saturday.

If the workout goes smoothly, Ryu will pitch in a Cactus League game five days later. He was slowed in late February by a tweaked back muscle but has plenty of time to get where he needs to be before the start of the 2015 regular season. Ryu, 27, boasts a 3.17 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 293/78 K/BB ratio in 344 major league innings.
Mar 5 - 11:46 AM

Zack Greinke (elbow) is scheduled to throw live batting practice Friday in Dodgers camp.

If it goes well, he will make his Cactus League debut five days later. Greinke received a lubricating injection in his throwing elbow on February 19 and has been free of discomfort since. The right-hander should start the Dodgers' second regular-season game.
