Mets manager Terry Collins said Sunday that Kevin Plawecki will serve as the team's starting catcher, assuming he's recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas to replace Travis d'Arnaud.

It looks as though Collins prefers Anthony Recker in his reserve role and will throw the 24-year-old backstop into the fire to see what he's got. He hit .309/.365/.460 with 11 homers and 64 RBI over 101 games between Double-A Binghampton and Triple-A Las Vegas in 2014 and could be worth a look in deeper two-catcher formats for as long as d'Arnaud remains sidelined.

Ryan Zimmerman went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Sunday's 4-1 win against the Phillies.

Zimmerman capped the Nationals' three-run fifth inning with an RBI double off of David Buchanan. Zimmerman padded the Nats' lead to 4-0 with a seventh-inning RBI single against Dustin McGowan. Despite batting .250 over his last five games, Zimmerman is on a five-game RBI streak. On the season, he's hitting a meager .184 with 11 RBI.

Matt Garza was shelled for five earned runs over six innings Sunday in a loss to the Pirates.

Garza looked shaky from the start, allowing Josh Harrison to score on a wild pitch in the first inning before yielding a first-inning RBI single to Andrew McCutchen. Garza gave up seven total hits and walked three, watching his WHIP jump up to 1.80. He also has a rough 5.40 ERA. A date with the Cardinals is next.

Drew Storen got into two-out trouble but escaped with his fourth save as the Nationals topped the Phillies on Sunday.

Storen allowed a leadoff single to Ryan Howard, then a two-out single to Ben Revere to bring the tying run to the plate in the form of pinch-hitter Chase Utley. Storen got Utley to tap out back to the mound for a 1-3 putout to end the game. The 27-year-old has had only one hiccup in five appearances and is now 4-for-4 in save opportunities with a 1.80 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP.

David Buchanan was much improved on Sunday but still fell to 0-3 after allowing three runs in five innings to the Nationals.

Buchanan entered the start having allowed 11 runs in 8 2/3 innings over his first two starts. He managed to blank the Nats over his first four innings before a three-run fifth inning helped to end his afternoon. Buchanan, in total, allowed six hits, walked three, and struck out four. He didn't have much fantasy value heading into the season and there's still no reason to consider him. Buchanan will try to earn his first win when he takes on the Braves at home next.

Shane Greene finally gave up a run but moved to 3-0, anyway, tossing seven frames of one-run ball in a 9-1 victory over the White Sox.

The one tally charged against him easily could have been unearned, as J.D. Martinez misplayed a ball in the sixth inning that was scored a triple. Greene went 21 2/3 frames before giving up a run this season. He walked four and struck out just three, but the righty surrendered only five hits, with the questionable triple being the only one that went for extra bases. Greene will take a microscopic 0.39 ERA into a start against the Indians next weekend.

Rays prospect Daniel Robertson belted his first home run of the season Saturday for Double-A Montgomery

The homer was part of a 3-for-5 effort. Robertson came over from Oakland in the Ben Zobrist trade this winter. He's MLB.com's 65th-ranked prospect and No. 2 in the Rays' system. Robertson could join Tampa in September when the rosters expand but it's more likely he makes his debut in 2016.

Stephen Strasburg had his first good start of the season on Sunday, giving just one run in 7 1/3 innings in a win over the Phillies.

Strasburg had retired the first 14 Phillies he faced before Carlos Ruiz singled to left field with two outs in the fifth inning. He had shut the Phillies out over his first seven innings as well, but relented a run in the eighth on a Freddy Galvis RBI single to center. Overall, Strasburg allowed five hits, walked two, and struck out seven. His first two starts were subpar, so it was nice to see him get back on track, even if it was against the lowly Phillies. Strasburg will look to keep it going next weekend in Miami against the Marlins.
