Mets manager Terry Collins strongly hinted that Josh Edgin (elbow) will be sent to the minor leagues after the completion of his rehab assignment on Sunday.

There's no opening in the Mets bullpen right now and Edgin's velocity isn't where it needs to be. The Mets would also like Edgin to be able to pitch on consecutive days, something he hasn't done since beginning his rehab assignment. Edgin owns a 1.42 ERA across eight minor league outings this year.

Travis d'Arnaud (shoulder) resumed hitting at the Mets' spring training facility Thursday in Port St. Lucie.

He's been out with a strained rotator cuff since April 25. D'Arnaud has yet to resume throwing but that will be the next step in his recovery. He isn't close to beginning a rehab assignment. Kevin Plawecki and Rene Rivera will continue to fill in behind the plate.

Cameron Maybin (wrist) is hoping to play center field in Friday's rehab game for Triple-A Toledo.

Maybin has made six rehab appearances for Toledo since resuming his rehab assignment last week but hasn't played the field yet. As long as he doesn't look too rusty in center field, he should be activated sometime next week. Anthony Gose has filled in at center field during Maybin's absence.

George Kontos (elbow) will face live hitters Friday before making a rehab appearance for Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.

Kontos could be activated from the disabled list if Sunday's outing goes well. He's been sidelined the past two weeks with a strained flexor tendon. The right-hander owns an impressive 1.59 ERA across eight appearances this year.
May 5 - 7:49 PM

Garrett Richards (fatigue) has been scratched from Friday's start against the Rays.

Richards has been battling fatigue and dehydration all week. He was always a long shot to pitch on Friday. Cory Rasmus will start in what should be a bullpen game for the Angels. Richards is day-to-day.
May 5 - 7:34 PM

Jackie Bradley (finger) is in the Red Sox's starting lineup Thursday against the White Sox.

He was truly a game-time decision as the Red Sox waited until an hour before the game to release their lineup. Bradley tested his finger out in batting practice and will give it a go. He injured his finger Wednesday when Dioner Navarro hit him on a pickoff attempt at third base. Bradley will bat ninth against right-hander Erik Johnson.
May 5 - 7:18 PM

Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) has not resumed throwing yet.

Iglesias was scratched from his start Sunday because of a right shoulder impingement and was placed on the disabled list shortly after. He won't be ready to come off the DL when he first becomes eligible on May 11. Tim Adleman will continue to occupy his place in the starting rotation.

The Yankees will wait for team doctor Chris Ahmad to examine Alex Rodriguez (hamstring) before establishing a timetable for his return.

Rodriguez strained his hamstring Tuesday against Baltimore and landed on the disabled list a day later. Expect a host of players to fill the void at DH. Carlos Beltran will start there on Thursday.
