Steven Moya (back) is available off the bench Wednesday.

Moya was held out of the Tigers' Grapefruit League opener Tuesday due to back spasms, but he checked out fine Wednesday morning and is good to go. The 23-year-old is the Tigers' top position prospect, but figures to begin 2015 in the minors.

Brandon Crawford is currently battling shoulder soreness.

Crawford also dealt with it last year and it's not believed to be serious. However, the Giants don't plan to have him play in the field until net week.

The Athletics have decided to move Coco Crisp to left field.

The move is designed at keeping Crisp healthy. The 35-year-old has appeared in 232 games in left field during his career, most recently in 2012. The A's plan to platoon Sam Fuld and Craig Gentry in center field.

Roberto Hernandez received his visa and will fly to Florida on Wednesday night.

Hernandez, who signed a minor league deal with the Astros last month, is expected to take a physical tomorrow morning in Kissimmee. He's in the mix for the fifth starter job this spring, but the Astros could decide to keep him around as a long reliever.

Derek Holland (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Thursday.

Holland was scratched from Thursday's intrasquad game due to discomfort in his left shoulder, but the Rangers were mostly just being cautious. Assuming that all goes well Thursday, he could pitch in a game this weekend.

Steve Johnson (finger) will not pitch in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game.

Johnson was originally scheduled to pitch Wednesday, but the Orioles want him to get one more day of work in before pitching in a game. The 27-year-old recently dealt with a jammed middle finger, but he's feeling better now.

Brandon Snyder has signed with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the independent Atlantic League.

A former-first round pick the Orioles, the 28-year-old Snyder batted .206/.284/.444 with eight home runs in 141 plate appearances at Triple-A with the Red Sox last year. He owns a .243/.287/.399 batting line over 158 plate appearances in the majors.

Jayson Werth (shoulder) hit off a tee Wednesday.

It wasn't much -- he only took 10 swings -- but it was a step in the right direction for Werth, who underwent surgery in early January to repair the AC joint in his right shoulder. The veteran outfield has some hurdles to cross, but he remains hopeful of being ready for the season.
