Cubs OF prospect Eloy Jimenez reached base six times in Monday's doubleheader for Low-A South Bend.

Jimenez went 4-for-4 with a homer and four RBI as the Cubs defeated Peoria for the doubleheader sweep. The 19-year-old has been a dominant force this season, leading the Midwest League in RBI (64), slugging percentage (.522) and OPS (.892). He's also second in doubles (30), second in hits (112), second in batting average (.330), second in total bases (177) and fifth in home runs (11). Jimenez was offered up as part of the Aroldis Chapman trade but the Yankees wanted Gleyber Torres instead.

Rangers designated RHP Kyle Lohse for assignment.

Lohse allowed 13 earned runs in two starts with Texas. He'll probably pass through waivers unclaimed, at which point the veteran right-hander can either elect to become a free agent or accept a spot back at Triple-A.

Orioles activated OF Hyun Soo Kim from the 15-day disabled list.

Kim is starting in left field and batting second Tuesday night against the Rockies after missing the last 15 days with a strained right hamstring. He returns to an impressive .329/.410/.454 batting line.

Orioles activated RHP Ubaldo Jimenez from the paternity leave list.

Jimenez was away from the O's for three days as his wife gave birth. He could start Thursday against the Twins, but if that doesn't happen it's back to long relief.

Ryan Vogelsong (eye) will make another rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A Indianapolis.

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said he's hoping Vogelsong can go seven innings, or around 90-95 pitches. The veteran right-hander yielded two unearned runs over four innings last Wednesday at Triple-A Indy, throwing 60 pitches. He's been sidelined since taking a Jordan Lyles pitch to the face on May 23.

Taijuan Walker (foot) is scheduled to throw a simulated game on Wednesday.

Mariners manager Scott Servais told reporters that he wants to see Walker "get after it" to really test his right foot. A minor league rehab game could follow if the workout goes smoothly. Walker has been on the disabled list since July 5 with lingering foot tendinitis.

According to ESPN's Buster Olney, the Indians have expressed interest in Eduardo Nunez of the Twins.

Nunez has been in a steady state of regression for a couple of months, but he's still enjoying the best year of his career by far, batting .298/.324/.446 with 12 home runs, 46 RBI, and 24 stolen bases in 88 games. The 29-year-old can also play all around the diamond defensively, which fits well with this current Cleveland roster. Nunez is making $1.48 million in 2016 and carries one more year of arbitration eligibility in 2017.
