Yankees recalled RHP Matt Daley from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The 31-year-old hurler owned a 5.40 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and impressive 13/1 K/BB ratio through his first five innings at Triple-A. He'll function as additional depth in middle relief for the Bombers.

Phillies recalled RHP Shawn Camp from Triple-A Lehigh Valley

Camp takes the spot of Jonathan Pettibone on the active roster, who was demoted to Triple-A after a lousy start against the Rockies on Friday. The 38-year-old Camp appeared in five games in at Lehigh Valley, posting a 3.00 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 4/3 K/BB ratio in six innings. He'll work in middle relief.
Apr 19 - 12:12 AM

Phillies optioned RHP Jonathan Pettibone to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

This comes in the wake of Friday's disastrous start against the Rockies where he allowed eight runs on nine hits in his four innings of work. With Cole Hamels set to rejoin the rotation this week, Pettibone will continue to function as organizational depth in the minor leagues.
Apr 19 - 12:10 AM

Yankees designated LHP Cesar Cabral for assignment.

Not an unsurprising move after completely losing his control and hitting three batters in the eighth inning of Friday's loss to the Rays. While it's possible he'll generate some interest on waivers, the most likely scenario is that he returns to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where he'll attempt to get back on track.
Apr 19 - 12:07 AM

Jonathan Schoop was 4-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 8-4 win over the Red Sox.

The four hits were a career-high and included a pair of RBI doubles. The big night pulled his batting average up from .244 to .304. The 22-year-old has swung the bat better in recent days, so he's making a case to stick around even after Manny Machado (knee) comes off the disabled list.
Apr 19 - 12:00 AM

Darren O'Day recorded four outs against the Red Sox on Friday for his first save of the season.

O'Day relieved Brian Matusz for the final out of the eighth inning and worked around a one-out walk for a scoreless ninth inning. The Orioles were up by four runs in the bottom of the ninth, so O's closer Tommy Hunter wouldn't have been eligible for the save if he pitched. O'Day now has six scoreless outings to begin the year.
Apr 18 - 11:59 PM

Chris Tillman yielded three runs over five innings in a win over the Red Sox on Friday.

Tillman needed 122 pitches to make it through his five innings of work. He wasn't at his best, giving up seven hits and four walks, but he managed to avoid any serious damage and his teammates gave him plenty of run support. Tillman is now 2-1 with a 20/7 K/BB ratio in 26 1/3 innings over four starts. He should remain a useful starter in mixed leagues this season, but his penchant for the fly ball should send his ERA north before long.
Apr 18 - 11:59 PM

John Lackey was hit hard for six runs over 5 1/3 innings in Friday's loss to the Orioles.

Lackey gave up 10 hits and four walks before exiting in the sixth inning. The 35-year-old has now given up six runs in back-to-back outings. He gave up six runs or more just once last year. While Lackey owns an ugly 5.25 ERA through four starts this year, he has at least struck out 23 batters in 24 innings. He'll attempt to turn the tide next week against the Yankees at home. Those in mixed leagues might want to sit out that matchup.
