Twins OF prospect LaMonte Wade went 3-for-6 with a homer on Monday for Double-A Chattanooga.

Wade also reached via walk, and now owns a .387 on-base percentage to begin his 2018 season. The 24-year-old outfielder is best known for his hit tool, and he can make hard contact to all parts of the field with minimal swing-and-miss. There's also some power in his left-handed bat, but asking for more than 15 homers in a season is asking too much. Wade is probably a fourth outfielder, but there might be just enough offensive upside to be a regular someday.

Orioles transferred RHP Gabriel Ynoa from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears a spot for the newly-claimed Jace Peterson on the 40-man roster. Ynoa was diagnosed with shoulder inflammation earlier this month and apparently isn't anywhere close to returning.

Cardinals LHP prospect Austin Gomber struck out 16 hitters over eight scoreless innings for Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

Gomber allowed just six hits, and he didn't walk anyone. A fourth-round pick in 2014, Gomber was added to the 40-man roster this winter, and the left-hander has a chance to make his MLB debut in 2018. His curve is an out pitch, and he complements it with a solid fastball and a change that flashes above-average. He also throws strikes with all three pitches, which makes him a high-floor starter. This is certainly a name to keep an eye on going forward.

Orioles claimed INF/OF Jace Peterson off waivers from the Yankees.

He's expected to report to Baltimore on Wednesday. Peterson was just designated for assignment by the Yankees for the second time in the span of two weeks. He'll provide some depth between the infield and outfield with his new team.

Blue Jays 3B prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Monday for Double-A New Hampshire.

Guerrero also walked, and his on-base percentage in the Eastern League is now up to .394. Not too bad for anyone, much less someone who won't turn 20-years-old until March. The Blue Jays likely will keep Vladdy Jr. in Double-A for the remainder of the year, but if he keeps hitting like this, it will at least cause them to make a difficult decision. The potential here is ridiculous.

Reds RHP prospect Hunter Greene gave up seven runs in 2/3 of an inning on Monday for Low-A Dayton.

Greene gave up four hits and walked three, and he struck out one. A clunker of an outing for the second pick of the 2017 MLB Draft, as the 18-year-old just didn't have his stuff or command. That's going to happen, because he's an 18-year-old pitcher. The future is very, very bright for Greene, but this is not a fast-track arm. We're looking at an ETA of 2020 at this point.

Twins SS prospect Nick Gordon went 4-for-7 on Monday for Double-A Chattanooga.

With the four hits, Gordon is now hitting .375 on the season, and .578 slugging percentage shows that the shortstop prospect isn't making soft contact, either. At this point, it's pretty clear that Gordon needs a better challenge, and he should be seeing a promotion to Triple-A at some point soon. The only way that doesn't happen is if the Twins just decide to promote him straight to the majors. Either way, he's the shortstop of the future.
Apr 24 - 1:38 PM

Braves RHP prospect Mike Soroka fired seven scoreless innings on Monday for Triple-A Gwinnett.

Soroka scattered three hits, and while he did walk three, none of the self-inflicted damage came in to score. The 2015 first-round pick now has his ERA down to 1.99 on the season, and recent comments from Atlanta's brass suggest that he's "close" to being ready at the MLB level. He doesn't offer the huge upside of some of the other top hurlers, but his ability to miss bats and throw strikes with his entire arsenal make him an intriguing fantasy option if/when that takes place.
