Chris Stratton allowed one unearned run with three hits and a walk over six innings in a road win Sunday against the Dodgers.

Stratton threw just 54 of his 96 pitches for strikes, managed first-pitch strikes to only eight of the 21 batters he faced and he uncorked a wild pitch. However, he continuously did a great job of bailing himself out, and the Dodgers certainly helped him out with some lazy swings and poor at-bats. He has won six of his eight decisions over nine outings since the start of May. He'll look to keep the good times rolling Friday against Jordan Lyles and the Padres in a favorable matchup.
Jun 17 - 9:25 PM

Mark Canha finished 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 6-5 victory against the Angels.

It was a much-needed big game for Canha, who was tearing the cover off the ball in Cactus League spring play. However, he entered this contest with only one multi-hit performance over his past 21 outings. In fact, his average had slipped from .284 to .238 just since May 12. Perhaps this multi-hit effort will get him going again.
Jun 17 - 9:15 PM

Blake Treinen worked two perfect innings with three strikeouts in Sunday's relief victory against the Angels.

Treinen threw 18 of his 21 pitches for strikes in the impressive outing, lowering his ERA to a microscopic 1.06. He has converted 15 of his 17 save chances, and his last blown save came way back on April 18. He has yielded just two earned runs over his past 22 innings over his past 19 appearances, making him one of the best fantasy closer options around.
Jun 17 - 9:11 PM

Daniel Mengden allowed four earned runs, six hits and three walks with two strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Angels.

Mengden was humming along with a 4-1 record, 1.51 ERA and 24 strikeouts over 41 2/3 innings in six May starts. He is winless in the month of June with no quality starts over his three appearances. Mengden will look to get back to this winning ways next Saturday afternoon on the road against the White Sox.
Jun 17 - 9:08 PM

Blake Parker allowed two earned runs, a hit and two walks while retiring just one batter in Sunday's loss in Oakland.

Parker, Cam Bedrosian and Jake Jewell each had ugly outings as the Angels bullpen blew its 15th save of the season. It's actually pretty amazing that the Angels remain a respectable four games over .500, because if they had any semblance of a reliable bullpen they would be much closer than nine and a half games back of the Houston Astros in the American League West.
Jun 17 - 9:02 PM

Albert Pujols finished 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's road loss against the Athletics.

Pujols has been OK in the month of June, going 13-for-53 (.245) with four homers and 11 RBI in 13 contests. The batting average can use a little work, but the uptick in power and run production lately has been nice. Pujols will never be the feared hitter he was in his days with the St. Louis Cardinals, but he is still a reliable fantasy contributor for his occasional power.
Jun 17 - 8:58 PM

Chris Young went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 11-inning loss in Oakland.

Young hit a rocket in the third inning off of Daniel Mengden, but that was his only output of the afternoon. He is up to five homers, but he is still slashing a dismal .181/.278/.383. Young has a lot of work to do in the average department before he'll be useful to fantasy owners again.
Jun 17 - 8:56 PM

Javier Baez was removed from Sunday's game against the Cardinals after he was hit by a pitch in the left elbow.

Baez was drilled by Cardinals' starter Jack Flaherty in the third inning. He was down on the ground and in considerable pain before walking off with the training staff. He'll presumably head for X-rays to ensure that nothing is broken. Look for the Cubs to provide an update on his status as soon as one is available.
